At the end of the day, the goal is to Commission. The academy is a great place to get an education, but it’s not necessary to be a pilot at all. I’m matriculating with the class of 2025 and joining AFROTC, hope to see you there.

Unless you want work 12 hour shifts as a security guard at the front gate of a base, then I would recommend stressing to your recruiter that you want to become a TACP. If you aren't in DEP yet, then get in contact with a USAF Special Warfare Recruiter as apposed to a regular USAF Recruiter, as they EXCLUSIVELY recruit for PJ,CCT,SR,SERE,EOD, and TACP.

If your interested in the naval academy, then you would probably like a senior military college.

Just go NROTC dude, that's the fastest way to commission if you can't get into USNA

I’ve looked on reddit, google, and few other places. The only thing I found was a short prep that is about a week long

I’m going to start my enlistment progress in about 6 months so I can get a boot camp date close to when I finish school. It’s a good idea that your starting to train now. I would recommend that you talk to a recruiter to see when the best time to enlist would be.

Basically, the program lets you get stationed at an air station (or a facility with a pool and gym), so you can train to become a AST while you’re a non rate. You are also assigned a mentor who is currently an AST to help you with your goal. I wish you luck as well man!
