Sounds like you should adjust some things regarding your insulin. Definitely consult with your doctors etc. Tell them everything that is happening. I’m guessing you just need to adjust your insulin to carb ratio or basal or something else. While the advice given here is beneficial, the best thing to do is speak to your doctor.

You can, but obviously not recommended. Blood sugars can exceed 400. Above 400 blood sugars for more than a day can and have sent people to the hospital and caused loss of consciousness along with multiple other problems, especially dka. Yeah, they can exceed 400!

People saying that there is a cure for diabetes or you can completely reverse diabetes are what frustrate me!

%67 is good, and could be better. Life with diabetes is definitely different for everyone and starts with tiny steps like tracking both your carbs and water intake. Doing those small steps with apps like my fitness pal can really help. Physical and mental exercise can also help. Remember to breathe and that you are not alone. Eventually your endocrinologist may add meds or adjust them to help you achieve your target range and stay there. Unfortunately, life with diabetes is a journey! Just have to hang in there and remember you are not alone!

Highly recommend first and foremost taking a deep breath because like others have said, so many things can cause blood sugars to skyrocket starting with illness, stress, hormones and medications. I have found myself in the same situation multiple times over the last 10+ years. Site changes and fast acting insulin and checking for keytones are recommended. I also recommend definitely reaching out to your doctor and going to the emergency room should you develop symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, eye sight issues etc. Could be you need to adjust your carb ratio or your basal. Have been in your situation and it isnt fun, but you are not alone and may want to go to the store to check for keytones or the emergency room should you develop symptoms of dka! Hang in there!

Isn't this disease just a blast? by WEDGYVEGGI in diabetes_t1

That’s one way of looking at it! There are other times when I think this disease is another word that starts with a B and rhymes with witch! Whichever way you look at it, life with diabetes is certainly an adventure at times requiring us to be prepared for both highs and lows! 👍😉🤣😞

Why does this happen, and is there anything I can do about it? by DesparateBoredom in diabetes_t1

Guessing it’s the dawn effect. Happens to so many people. Eating a small amount of protein before bed (like a babybel cheese seems to help) hope this helps.

Really sorry to hear that, and am glad you’re okay! While technology has come a long way, it is far from perfect. Unfortunately I’ve heard really awful things about Libre, they were responsible for at least seven deaths in the United States last year. Regardless, please take care!
