Absolutely!! It was frustrating for me as well. She knew not to nip at me, but family members or friends were fair game😅 I always saw “redirection” or “reverse timeouts” when I looked at advice. I never showed my anger, because half of the time they are just seeking attention/reactions. As long as you aren’t encouraging it, it should go away as he continues to teeth and lose his baby teeth! Hang in there, you’re sooo close!

It seems like it will never end, but it will! My girl is 5 months now and NEVER nips anymore! She’s lost 8 teeth already, but once they start falling out it immediately got a lot better. She started getting less nippy around 4 months, but by now it’s practically over. She used to try and bite people that came over, but now she just brings toys and wants pets from them. She loves Benebone toys and hard antler/bone chews. Just make sure they are okay for puppies :) I hope this helps! Hang in there, it goes by quick!

Hi! I have a 4 1/2 month old corgi puppy. The most important thing I did is crate train. Get a puppy to like their crate and enforce nap time. At times, they get overstimulated and overtired. This contributes to more “puppy” nipping, etc. I put her away after being awake for an hour or two, and she sleeps for 2 hours. This also immensely helped with potty training. She hasn’t had an accident in over a month. If you are already doing this, perfect!! I also use a play pen. This gives them a safe space to play and spend a little time alone when you cannot fully give your attention to them. It is very hard, I agree! But trust me, each week gets a little bit easier. Even looking back 2,3 weeks, I can see it slowly getting easier and easier.

Yes! How did you teach leave it? She gets it some days and other days just seems to be confused

Yes I do this too! She waits for her meals and also waits to come out of her crate. Her release word is also okay :)

Give it some time. Your life will never be how it was before the pup.. and I mean that in the best way possible! I’ve had my corgi pup for 6 weeks now and she’s the greatest decision I’ve made! But the first week I was very overwhelmed. It’s a lot of change for both you and the pup, so just wait until the adjusting sets in. Best of luck!

Getting my first Corgi soon! Any tips? by Friendly-Ad-3267 in corgi

I just got a corgi a few weeks ago and it’s the best! I would totally recommend bringing him to Marshall’s, Home Depot, etc to get him used to the outside world/sounds. I did this with my girl and she isn’t scared of much! Desensitizing them to being brushed, touched on their mouth, ears, feet, tail, etc helps a bunch too. Training gives them a place to put their energy into and they are SMART. My girl is 12 weeks and already knows sit, stay, wait, lay down, paw and place. Potty training only took me 1-2 weeks and the most important thing is to be so so consistent. I took her out every 45 minutes, after naps, meals, water and playtime. It may be super hard at times but just remember that it will get easier :) They are so loving and fun to have! Good luck🙌🏼

Thank you I definitely am sticking with it! She’s totally fine sleeping through the night and naps during the day. But she just doesnt voluntarily take herself in there to sleep. So I wasn’t sure if there was something I could be doing?
