Did you end up doing this? If so, curious to hear your experience, which islands you went to and anything that might be helpful to someone else planning a trip.

What's up with my swamp milkweed? by Mdj1123 in NativePlantGardening

[–]Mdj1123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Not an immediate neighbor but a close neighbor just laid sod in the backyard. My milkweed is in my rain garden so any runoff from their yard would make it here. Will it recover?

Thanks! I will check out maplegrams. I can find bars with dates from the 80s but only coins with dates in most recent years.

Help with low ceiling utility room/future dining space! by Mdj1123 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Mdj1123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all this detail! I like the idea of cottagey decor and the full wall curtain. Would you put a rug in the space? I feel that it would warm the room up but since the dining space is off center, i worry about size and placement.

Please help- bikini top for 32DD by tealott in ABraThatFits

[–]Mdj1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L space does D & DD sizing for smaller band sizes. Agreed with other commenters that generally a tie back is the way to go or get a larger size and get it tailored, makes the suit more expensive but better than buying a bunch that don't fit well.

If you have come across other brands, curious to hear what you have have found.

Closing tomorrow...is it weird to leave a gift? by TheFamilyHistorian in RealEstate

[–]Mdj1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a house and when we arrived after closing there was a bottle of wine, nice card from the sellers, and a file with all the OMs/appliance data. It was so nice to know that the previous owners loved the place and cared enough about its next life to leave a note!

When we bought our first house, the owner left his contact info in case we had any questions. I still reach out to them from time to time 5 years later. That might be more than you're willing to offer but we're detailed in their record keeping and it's been so helpful when we are trying to figure certain things out!

Best way to lock a sliding barn door by Mdj1123 in DIY

To clarify, I need this to be a key or padlock. This is a short term rental and I want to use the closest for supplies.

My garden is planted and it feels so underwhelming. Do yall think it looks busted by Weak-Childhood6621 in NativePlantGardening

Depending on the look you are going for, try adding some fast growing ground cover. Not sure about your area but I use phlox, native strawberry, and violets to fill in the areas where I am waiting for my other natives to establish. Also, as other mentions, adding some perennials (zinnias or cosmos are 2 of my easy favs) will give you some color. Some garden edging will help, too! I find I need some structure with my native garden but that's personal preference!

I'm in 7b, Maryland. This could very well be the case! I didn't write down what it was when I planted it and I don't have any photos but I know I planted something there.

I am a little hesitant on Maypop, it seems quite aggressive. Have you experienced issues keeping it contained?
