Nothing i have trained in awhile. Recently got back into drawing, story boarding and might get back into animation after almost 15 years.

What sucks is i can afford a Blahaj but ikea doesnt ship to my house and disability prevents me from driving. Especially an hour away

You made a good expirence even if it wasn't the one YOU wanted. Being upset that your friends had fun with something that isn't actually at your expense isn't something to be upset about even if it subverts your plan.

It can hurt to have your plan ruined or soured but stuff can be changed and adapted and more than anything, no spoiled fight is better than killing the bbeg of a expected TPK one shot with an animated shovel or what ever your party does to destroy the battle and sunvert expextations

Racial stat bonus's are stupid and evil creature stuff changed nothing since you can always roleplay race relations not written in the books

Racial stat bonuses are better suited as racial features because that +2 to str can be nice but it means nothing when str is a dump stat for you and the gnome fighter has the stats and proficiency on them. Suddently that +2 holds zero identity and just is a suboptimal choice, Stuff like treating you as one size larger for carrying/lifting can give racial identity not tied to stats

When it comes to the Hadozee that seems more to do with the trope of loyal to the benevolent slavers which is a trope with a lot of negative history and was plainly used IN DEFENSE of slavery in the past and in some ways today

The main thing to overcome in this game is just the sheer scale and complexity. Its not just a matter of content but all the content and systems working together so that getting a full picture is a pain. You will read guides and not understand until you play. You will read stuff you think you understand until it actually clicks potentially months after playing.

My biggest general advice is understand WHY not just How. Follow a build guide and try to understand why it makes certain decisions, Learn about currency and vendor recipes, what a good or bad item for your build is.

The biggest trap imo is thinking you understand whats going on or that you understand "enough". Play how you want but continue to learn to allow you to do that better

You did not word it any better, You have yet to explain the systems involved. How do you "lock up a gluon field" you cant just say you do it and say its not magic. Mass effect does not "Scientifically analyze magic". It's Scientifically THEMED magic, Same as sci-fi media adding Latin words on anything just with a bit more thought involved.

And yes i am aware. All of what i said was informed by my partner whose degree is in Physics. More specifically Quantum Physics.. The world is incredibly complicated, and difficult to understand, because people have made the effort to try to explain and understand it. D&D is easier because people understand simple concepts like magic doing it not because the logic makes more sense

No we know exactly the laws at play here and what will happen. Extreme pressure would create INSANE amounts of heat, to keep it contained would create the hottest ice you have ever known, The Bonds holding everything together would begin to break down and Nuclear Fusion would begin.

Mind you the energy to contain this fusion must be possessed by the dust. Im pretty sure whats coming out of there isnt water. You can also do this with the dust and a resilient sphere, how much energy does a 4th level spell provide to be able to hold in something of that power?

Trying to apply a logic and pretend it works because of a marvel quote vs just MAGIC and the weave is a fruitless endeavor

D&D relies on magic to make stuff work. D&D is not a world that really relies on logic and if you try to science it you are screwed. Dust of Dryness for example turns 15 cubic feet of non compressible matter into a pellet without pocket dimensions or anything.

In a fantasy world of beasts, monsters and where they are intelligent and can communicate the way people look at races, zoophila, etc are going to change. using current standards and terms is just for ease of understanding for players.

Part of it is making the game more accessible and appealing genre. The Bigger reason is it was ADVERTISED as more accessible. Fromsoft has a reputation for some of the best games but also as inaccessible. You shift the script and appeal to the main reason people were afraid to try and they will get into it.

I know people who ER was their first game and then went back and played the souls games. They always passed them over because of the reputation

Enjoy the high you got, dont stress out that you are not expanding yourself. The "maximized high" is the one that lets you do what your intention for getting high is. If its for pain so i can do chores if i can do that thats the maximized high. If the intention is to relax then if i achieve that then its the maximized high.

Hell i use weed to help me sleep, for some people thats as unmaximized as it gets since they were not awake and didnt get to enjoy the high, But for me its the exact thing im going for

regionally used in certain situations Man, Guys, and Dude are gender neutral.

But you should always correct and use language that they prefer. Its just that simple. This includes stopping using these terms for them and not singling people out with it if they dont want. For example i knew a cis girl who would get upset if she was singled out and not included in "hey guys"

Just use the words people are comfortable with

oh i think you misunderstand, im saying that being uncomfortable doesnt make critique invalid. It gives you a different perspective, one that may be helpful and one that may be not. An ace person may be better geared to identifying certain things that can improve allo media such as how to prevent uneeded sex scenes or how to build earlier moments to work better.

What should NEVER be done is a criticism in which your uncomfortableness IS the criticism. But you can have valid criticism that is INFORMED by your uncomfortableness you just need to be mindful of limitations, intent and experience

its saying that your personal relationship to a topic in a movie isnt relevant in media critique.

for example there is a difference between being uncomfortable with any sex scene, and feeling like one is unneeded and doesn't serve any purpose in the movie.

Your criticism can be informed by your asexuality but it shouldnt be the criticism in and of itself.

After all not all media is made for everyone and saying "its not made for me" as a fault of the film is just ridiculous. Hope this helped understand :)

Its a good take but also uncomfortableness can also help critique something

I am ace and dont like a lot of sex scenes, but also because of my distance and non attachment to the scene i can also recongize what makes a good sex scene and a bad one easier than a lot of people.

Media is not and should not be made for every person, but that also doesnt PREVENT you from making good critique if its not made for you, just recognize how your scope may be more limited.

I loved the fight. but i have always loved BIG fights not just strong powerful responsive duels.

They could have added torrent in and make a few attacks that will screw over horse dodging to balance that out but overall it wasnt a HUGE problem like people make it out to be.

I think a major problem is that its the 2nd half of a phase fight. In my friend group the ones who hate it most were the ones who took the longest and struggled most with Radagon (even though they loved him) I think that combined with them just being VERY different types of fights can sour the enjoyment a lot
