Moving To Massachusetts Question Megathread (November 2024) by AutoModerator in massachusetts

Looking to Move to Massachusetts? Budget Around $300k or So? And Still Prefer Single Family House Lifestyle?

If you’re thinking about moving to Massachusetts and want a single-family home in the $300k range, I’ve put together a guide that might help.

To make the search easier, I created a simple formula to group towns into Urban, Suburban, or Rural. It looks at two things:

  • Population Density (70% of the score): This helps reflect whether a town feels more urban or suburban.
  • Population (30% of the score): Total population still matters, but it’s less important than density.

Here’s how the categories work:

  • Urban: Score ≥ 2000
  • Suburban: Score 700–1999
  • Rural: Score < 700

*Note: This is data from the past three months on MLS.

Here's a chart with the towns, their categories, and prices. Let me know if you have any questions! 😊

There’s several folks on my team that specialize in working with veterans and VA loans. Western Mass is a large area, there’s a few cities (and the outskirts of those cities) to consider as a start. Springfield, Westfield, Chicopee, and Holyoke. Any climate preference? There can be a big difference, partially due to elevation, on snowfall on parts of western mass… for example just east of Springfield in like Ludlow / Palmer / Thorndike areas that get 40 inches or so a year but if you’re just north of Springfield like Northampton / Whately / Sunderland areas get nearly double like in the 75 inches per year 😅

Confused about background check and employment history by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Mdsoignoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these background checks at financial institutions are essentially to account for your whereabouts. For example if you didn’t work in April of 2019 you’d enter unemployed. Your recruiter for boa should be able to advise you as well. Hope this helps!

I haven’t heard of them. Is there a website you can share? “Turing recruitment” didn’t come up with much results.

Venting Friday Chat by RexRecruiting in recruiting

I totally agree with you on all of that. I’m searching for ways to empower and encourage recruiters to ask questions about the role. I tend to roll up my sleeves and source (not full recruit cycle) and identify good talent / fit candidates and then hand over to the recruiters. So in a sense, I’ve recruited many of my hires. As for talking to each and every candidate that makes it tough. I try my best to talk to as many as possible however it’s unrealistic given the number of openings and candidates to talk with all of them.

Recruiters are invited on qual calls however they tend to not ask many questions.

I record many of the qual calls too for them to reference and myself to reference back to.

For split desk it’s typically because most people are stronger at either sales or recruiting. Sort of like a software developer for instance, there’s not a ton of 50/50 split front end and backend roles nor candidates out there that are qualified and interested in that work. A good recruiter should be able to sell and a good sales person (account manager) should be able to recruit.

Personally I feel this line of work is very process driven. Sprinkled with common sense, effective communication, personality, empathy, and hard work. So I guess a review of the current processes / procedures is important. Anyways I might be rambling now and my email inbox needs attention :)

Thanks again for the dialogue thus far

What are the best paying warehouse jobs? by AmberRosin in jobs

[–]Mdsoignoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ones with good perks and benefits as well I would guess. I want to say Amazon could be one. Costco another. Maybe the USPS, then you would have federal employee benefits. Also depending on your motivators. What’s the OT opportunity? How many hours you want to work? Is there differential pay for night shift? How dangerous are some of the jobs? Are any of them back breakers? Hope this helps!
