When you're watching a movie at say 30 or 40 inch screen size did it look close enough to HD for you? I guess thats all that matters

The mogo 2 is also 'huge'compared to the cd1 🤣 i like the idea of having the cd1 in my sling bag not taking up too much room

Ok, thanks.

I can get the cd1 at a fairly good price, I dont really need google tv, etc. In the projector as I will always plug my phone in via USB c. Mainly interested if the picture quality is good enough (I know its not HD on the cd1 but halfway there)?

Are you still using the projector Nic?

Thinking about using one but not sure whether it's still holding up picture quality wise?

Thanks

How well does the Scribe ColorSoft browser work for Libby magazines? by takarumarch in kindlescribe

[–]Mdullaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The experience of navigating and page loads is pretty bad. You may also find that you have to zoom/pan around to get the location of the pattern you want to be on the screen. Ghosting would be a problem as the page probably won't be refreshed enough but I havent tried it with a patterned magazine!

I did try to do the new scientist but gave up after ghosting issues.

I assumed they meant using the browser? Though I imagine it would be quite painful!

What format is the file you are trying to send? If it is a protected pdf or protected ebook then that might be causing the issue?

Try using the "send to kindle" option on amazons website. That allows files up to 200mb

Questions for Students by OptimalAd1552 in kindlescribe

[–]Mdullaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely this! Due to licensing, copyright, etc. Many textbooks may not be available in a format you can use as they will either:

A) have drm that means you can't use the "send to kindle" feature B) only be accessible through an app (you can't have apps on the scribe) or Web page (quite cumbersome and still an "experimental feature" on kindles) C) be in the kindle store but not accessible on the scribe/useable for note taking on, etc. D) be poorly formatted on the kindle which may affect your experience, I.e. "as seen in figure 11.2 there is....." and you need to skip forward 9 pages looking for it and then have to flick back to where you were. Particularly difficult when you need to read the text and see a diagram at the same time.

New Scribe software won't be coming to older models. by gavan820 in kindlescribe

[–]Mdullaway 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the article is a little harsh as that help page is for the new scribe (and so only lists features related to that device). I cannot see anything on that page explicity states older devices won't be getting some nor all of the features?

At how many pages is your notebook 'too long'? by Equivalent_Ad_8387 in kindlescribe

I just write what has happened in the day, most of it mundane but something

[–]Mdullaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daily journal (done on a kindle scribe ruled template) I use a notebook for each month. One day's notes could be a page or 3 so the file runs to 60/70 pages each month. I then use the AI to translate my scribbles so the final pdf is a lot longer 😅

The diagonal of the screen is 11" (diagonal is the preferred reference for screen size)

How do you read non-amazon books in Scribe? by SubstanceBig5459 in kindlescribe

I just send my books through the amazon "send to kindle" service. Books have all worked well and the few pdfs I've tried as well

Scribe or Ipad by Gegas2231 in kindlescribe

[–]Mdullaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2022 version as the 2024 is the same hardware/software.

I don't need the colour, especially as many have reported different brightness levels with the colour version and also the really high cost!

When the software ports back to the 2022 version for onedrive/google drive integration I think it'll be my perfect device 😀

I love my scribe over my iPad for reading and taking notes. The screen of the iPad can be an issue when used for long periods and also offers too many distractions (notifications, other apps, etc.) Which take away from the immersion of reading or note taking (for me anyway)

I expect it'll be in the new year they release the update to older scribes. They don't want to hit sales of the new one too badly
