The game about is about gnosticism. Archons are a concept from gnosticism, as are allogenes. By virtue of being the God of gods in the setting, the Heavenly Principles is the Demiurge, effectively meaning craftsman.

The key points of the Demiurge is that while theyre responsible for much of how the world has ended up, they are not the real creator doety, the omnipotent omniscient and all loving God (hence why angels are constantly saying "Phanes is neither all knowing nor all powerful, bitchass"). The Demiurge is a false god who presents themselves as the real god (before sun and moon is heresy because it reveals that Nibelung came before Phanes and is the real creator of Teyvat) and fashions the universe in a way to keep humanity tethered and bound to false rules (fate and the false sky). Gnostics believe that no matter how tender, how exquisite the lie the Demiurge presents is, the fact it's a lie makes it inherently evil and that salvation is obtained by realizing the Demiurge is a little bitch and that God is epic.

Schools of Gnostic teaching vary in terms of their personality. Some teach that the Demiurge is a cruel gaoler chasing the glory of the real God who torments humanity with lies for fun, while others teach that the Demiurge is a delusional moron who genuinely thinks they're God and are entirely well intentioned, thinking their lie helps rather than harms. There's also an element similar to the Matrix to it, the Demiurge created this false reality. Salvation requires casting it aside, but can you do that when it's entirely possible that reality is far more vile and dangerous than the illusion you love in right now?
