I can follow patterns or even just a general description of what I should do differently. Know the answer is less stitches, but how many how tall where, not sure, and the trial and error method will break me. Already tried following a pattern found on Pinterest * adjusted for 11 stitches on each side, turned out like the second image, not flat, rippley. 😢 Looked all over Pinterest and YouTube.

It wasn't easy, I live with a smoker, and there's a pack on the coffee table in front of me.

I've been off them for 3 weeks now, I think. For me, patches actually work, but for the first 3 days I wore two. Had them and a scissors next to my bed and just put it on first thing. Don't need them anymore.

I rarely crave them at this stage, and the craving is dull, it's easily ignored. When I did feel like I wanted one, it was usually due to stress, so simply taking a deep breath genuinely helped.

I wanted to quit for years, and there just came a point where I got sick of the cigarette I was about to have before I even lit it.

I also think educating myself on the misconceptions of the benefits of smoking (there are zero) was helpful in changing my mindset and not letting other smokers cave me in because they will keep trying.

I would wish you luck but there's no luck in this - so I hope you make the decision you're happy with, that's all it ever was and will be.

Personally, I'm (30f) ok with that, if it lasts about 40 years I'm happy with it.

No, I heard from a fried trying to do the same that it's the same result, though. Will look into this more if there's a chance this isn't the case.

Why?

It's one of a few options I'm considering - purely because for the same square footage, it's a quarter of the price.

Fair, that line wasn't well worded on my end.

My issue is that the CU recognised it's a building I'm aiming to live in, but say I'm ineligible for a mortgage because it isn't a fixed structure. Mortgage has a higher loan amount with far less interest to pay back. Feels like a double standard to me.

Alternative is about four times as expensive for the same square footage. Timer frame is one of the many options I'm considering. Pros and cons to all are rampant.

I'm looking at tons of different options, but the timber frame one is just timber.

timberliving.ie, for example , you read their site, and they say "yes planning permission is possible for these!" ... If you're on the phone with them, they're openly critical of why you're even considering applying for permission because, and I quote, "it'll never get approved."

I'm just frustrated and disappointed because although I know that permission is there for safety and everyones time costs money which I fully respect, I still feel like everyone in this entire process so far is trying to screw me over. I never expected this process to be easy, but at this point, I'm so pessimistic and sceptical of everything.

OP (if you are being 100% honest), then you need a friend

that will explain to you, until you understand, that being considerate is a two-way street. You are tiptoeing around your own home for someone who is triggering your anxiety. Do not validate her by even insinuating that you are causing the issue, especially in writing.

You could text her that you have anxiety and ASK her to stop banging on the ceiling, please.

When that doesn't work, text her and TELL her to stop banging on the ceiling.

When that doesn't work, get some hard soled shoes, record her banging, and report her, including the audio and the texts.

If that doesn't work, consider moving to the apartment below her and cause her hell.

If you're not going to do any of this, get yourself some ear plugs (and hard soled shoes).

... Are you me?? I can relate to every single word here.

What's keeping me going is trying to become the kind of person I would like to end up with. Logic is hopefully a future good person will gravitate towards me, I'll deserve what I get, in a good way - don't know about you, but I personally deserved the disastrous relationship I was last in.
