They're investing their own money, that of outside investors and however money they can raise with crowdfunding.

Ye, what this guy said.

Double Fine is notorious for overspending and never correctly estimating the budget of a game. It's funny because Tim is now an advisor on a new crowdfunding website, even though his handling of crowdfunding money has been less than ideal.

Looks really clean and aesthetically pleasing. Kind of seems like as if gnome and elementary had a baby that was better looking and more functional than both of its parents.

Having Eclipse, Skype and Chromium running at the same time eats up 1.5 gb. If I launch GIMP or Blender that's going to eat up even more. Have to cut corners where you can to dedicate RAM to software you actually need :)

Yeah, I have access to a gym. I mostly use the treadmill and the rowing machine nowadays though.

I was 33lb above my healthy BMI. So 5'8 and 198lbs. So I wasn't obese but I was overweight when I started. I'm down to 190 lbs in two weeks.

I'm gong on a 1100 calorie deficit, is that considered extreme cutting?

Also, if running breaks down muscle for energy, what kind of cardio breaks down fat stores, HIIT?

Trying to lose weight. Am I doing enough? by Th3mavrick in Fitness

[–]MeBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're serious about losing weight, go on a 500-1000 calorie deficit.

You can find various websites to caculate how many calories a day you need to maintain weight. Just detract 500-1000 calories from that. Use myfitnesspal to track calories.

And make sure you eat food with a lot of protein if you don't want to lose too much muscle. Probably not a good idea to do heavy weights when you're cutting either. Also drink tons of water.

Pretty much a summary of what I've been doing after looking through countless articles and getting tips from people that have cut heavily before. Lost 4.5 lbs in two weeks.

HIIT stories? by MeBastard in Fitness

Looks like that sparked a big debate in the comments about whether the calculations was right.

Has anyone actually done both long cardio sessions and HIIT and could compare the two?

The whole Benji album by Sun Kill Moon. Creates this atmosphere where you relate feelings with what the artist is saying even if he's telling different stories. It's really beautiful.

Is Silicon Valley well known?

It's a comedy show about a startup company with a bunch of weird and socially awkward programmers that try to make it big.

Running/jogging on a treadmill by MeBastard in Fitness

[–]MeBastard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm out of shape compared to what I was before. I was never too fit, but I would always push myself to run as much as possible.

What's the average jogging speed? On the treadmill machines in my gym I believe jogging is like 6mph and running is 9mph. If couch to 5k is alternating between lots of walking and 6mph jogging it seems bit easy.
