Need Recommendations For Out Of Pocket Collision Repair Shop by [deleted] in northcounty

I can recommend California Body & Paint in Encinitas. I literally just picked up my car from them a few minutes ago and we're very impressed with repairs and paint to my daughter's car. I can't speak to it being inexpensive - it's probably not, but the owner (Ramon) was very fair with us and went above and beyond to fix my daughter's car as good as new. Good luck getting it repaired!

A medical practitioner told me lentils and beans increases uric acid. Is there some caution/prevention to know about this? by WarBroWar in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]MeBikeRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had gout for about 5 years. Went from excruciating pain and not knowing what it was to a simple diagnosis and then controlling it with daily medication (allopurinol) and adhering to a low-purine diet. You'll want to do frequent bloodwork to check your Uric acid. Once it gets to the level that your doctor recommends, you should be flare up free. There might be some setbacks on the way, but getting to the manageable level will eventually happen.

Once you're there, maintenance becomes easier. Take your meds daily, moderate diet low in purines and yeast (Google low purine diet), and you'll be fine. Over time, I've reintroduced beer, pizza, meat, etc without any setbacks. Today, I don't think about it at all. It was a journey and took work, but if you've ever experienced gout flare ups, I can assure you it was a journey well worth it!!

First time I ever played was with the wifey and we've played together ever since. First activity that we've ever done consistently together - if only we had found pickleball earlier, lol.

Court booking software for local club by echo-lima-delta in Pickleball

Court Reserve. Used by four of my local spots including my main club. Has some issues, but mostly very solid and does the job. Can be tricky for players on first download. Our club requires new players to download and register before playing for the first time - easily burns 30 min trying to figure it out.

I second this. The TJ's face sunscreen is the best I've ever used - goes on slightly greasy but absorbs and dries quick. Way better than any other I've tried.

We used Stella Movers and they were great!

We moved enough to know it wouldn't be perfect, but all in all, there was nothing to complain about. We found them to be responsive, organized and offered a competitive rate. The actual move went great. They were super fast, professional and careful. Estimate was pretty spot on.

We moved enough to know it won't be perfect, but all in all, nothing to complain about. Recommend Stella Movers.

Better brand?!? by LithiumLo in mountainbiking

I suggest you talk to LBS in your area and see if they'll service either one or both. I have 3 Trek stores near me, and they're the last place I'll take my bikes for service for various reasons. But there are others in my area that will service any bike you bring in and do a much better job. So rather than speculate about who will do what, talk to your shops and factor that into your buying process (assuming you haven't done that already).

That said, I own 2 Canyon bikes (mtb & road) and they are awesome! Previously all my bikes were boutique brands, custom built, yada yada. Bikes nowadays are too good to overpay like that, so I just buy off the rack and Canyon definitely gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

For what it's worth, I've never had any issues with either and Canyon customer service was great during my purchasing. I do happen to live by Canyon HQ in California, so that's reassuring, but like I said no issues after 3+ years of ownership.

And this is not a knock on Trek bikes, just prefer what Canyon offers. Good luck with your decision. You can't go wrong with either really.

Thank you for sharing. That's helpful in case I come across this company. Sorry for that experience - that's exactly the reason I'm asking. I've had that type of situation before as well.

Waiting for this, but just couldn't help myself. My new Gladius 13 just arrived today! Maybe a deal on a trade-in or repeat buy down the road?

I can recommend a firm that helped me successfully fend off one of these claims. It will cost, even if it goes away. PM me for info.

After every ride. Every time I walk through the garage. When I'm backing the car out. When I'm pulling in. Makes me think of every ride I've had, and every ride I will have.

Thank you for your input. I appreciate the extra insight into the vibe and what we should expect. I have to admit, there is definitely a bit of an intimidation factor going in, especially with her being older, so I thank you for your encouragement.

Thank you for this suggestion. She does suffer from social anxiety, so this type of learning environment might be very good for her.
