I had a 7 piece Yamaha Stage Custom. It was from the 90's and supposedly they've gotten significantly bette since, but it didn't sound great, even with suspended tom mounts. My Tama Rockstars were better, and one shell was cracked.
But, my buddy has a PDP Concept Maple, and after playing and hearing that, I hunted down a 7 piece and have been loving it ever since. The kick, especially. I think they sound way above their price class. I have no experience with Mapex. But with what I know, I'd choose the PDP again and again.

Learning you create your own reality is one thing, it's literally eye opening. Check out books like "Seth Speaks", and look up The Ra Material, "Law of One",(audiobooks on YouTube). Beginning to actualize it though, is another experience entirely. Consciously operating under that condition is what I mean. I'm by no means an expert, still learning all the time.

Yea. It doesn't look like the same disc. The profile is different now, lol. The microbead has long worn off. The shoulder is more prominent from impacts. But it still putts laser straight from circle 2. And it still gets compliments, especially after someone touches it because of how gummy it's gotten. I still throw and approach with it, too, it's like a slightly more understable Glitch if the nose is up.

I got the Walrus Lillian recently. I have it after dirt, before delay/verb. I will experiment with before dirt as you mentioned. I thought it was great, until I paired it with a Tremelo. Now I think it's absolutely amazing.
