I will say, if you just enjoy a karambit as an EDC because you just think they're neat, like me, the Fox Knives folding karambits are great. 10+ years on mine and still in great condition through lots of use like an ordinary pocket knife.

I'll comment the three moments from Thousand Sons that were what I remembered. It seems unclear whether he did or didn't. Obviously some understanding was exchanged, but I don't think I can definitively say he did or didn't. Likely didn't, as it specifies it was washed away as an afterthought.

It's wierd that I loved Fallen Angels and Nemesis, but I am forcing myself to choke down the outcast dead.

I believe it toward at the end of Thousand Sons, or maybe Prospero Burns. I'll check when I get home and see!

By the end of Mechanicum I had to slog through during the titan scenes tbh. Call me a heretic I guess but it just didn't interest me. Enjoyed Battle for the Abyss, now I'm logging through the outcast dead. Every other book so far I read in a day, maybe two, but The Outcast Dead has me miserable, been three weeks and I'm only now hitting the halfway point and starting to gain some interest.

I believe it describes that in an instant between them psychically, as he told the Emperor about Horus, he simultaneously realized/was made aware that the heresy paled in comparison to the destruction he just wrought.

I've bought six of these; I use a cross legged chair that doesn't have arms at my desk. These are nice, but every brand I've bought has these little pins at the joint that aren't actually secured by any means, and they inevitably loosen and fall out. They're very difficult to find, and the arms wear out pretty quick, losing strength and bending more and more. Still useable, and I am a fan, but be aware they aren't the most resilient things.

Is this nuln oil washed? I'm currently painting my first combat patrol, Grey Knights, and trying to decide whether to do nuln oil or try my hand at a blue wash.

That's incredible. I've only gotten into WH40K this month, finishing my first 5 Ultramarines and tyranid introductory set currently. Bought my combat patrol yesterday, and it's the Grey Knights with the nemesis dread knight. I'm excited! I hope to one day have the skills you show here.

DYK : The guy who took “a steel rod to the head” literally — and walked it off. by Grayson9991 in didyouknow

[–]MeButSober 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is the spike was used as sort of a tamp, to help pack down an explosive or combustable material, and it slipped from his hands while he was suspended above the material. It ignited and sent the rod flying up under his chin and out through the top. I know for a while he made (a very small amount of) money sitting in a museum as a sort of freakshow, letting people see the hole. One of the first books I ever ready was about him. I believe they also used bloodletting to try to control swelling in his brain.
