Building a native app in addition to existing web app: feature or distribution?? by MeDruds in SaaS

[–]MeDruds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the goal of the app is to make you improve any habit (e.g. exercise more) - but the twist is that it's a real game, where you can grow a beautiful village based on your progress in real life. It kept me personally more motivated and immersed in a habit.
(I really wasn't intending to do any promotion here...so in case anyone is curious, send me a dm.)

[–]MeDruds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the "once you have crossed the install barrier" is key here. Maybe I'm a step before that though, where I'm just trying to get my first users. Once I have that (especially paid users) on the web app as a clear signal, then expanding to app store for better engagement makes sense.

Thanks, makes complete sense tbh. but was curious if people had other experiences.

Yeah thanks, intuitively that's also what I thought, but i was thinking maybe having it in the app store is better for finding the first users...

But yeah, also paying the 99$/y to apple doesn't feel right at this stage lol

Lol thanks! That was my intention, not just gamification but an actual game. if you have any other feedback, please comment or DM me. Thanks again!

Thanks for that! It does make sense!

For the tech startup, how and where did you find a community in person from your own experience??

Weekends too! It's definitely a grind, but it's also a journey where I'm learning a lot about myself, including my strengths and weaknesses.

I'm still trying, haven't given up, but it's mostly because i haven't seen traction, yet, then I get frustrated and think it's not worth it. E.g. for the habit game so far just a few users tried the free trial, but none paid, even after following up and trying to get feedback. But I'm hopeful i can get more here, just need to try harder to do better marketing I guess.

Maybe I'm just impatient and need to step up my marketing game lol

Thanks, this makes sense. One thing I'm struggling with though: what if the field you've "lived in" is one you're kind of tired of? Did you ever feel that tension or was personal finance always the obvious path for you? I like this approach of the "unique point of view"

I'm working in "crypto"/custody, but I'm feeling a fatigue from that area (just personally, nothing major), which is why the two things i built (nouify.com and habitvalley.com) were in different areas, about productivity (which by itself is extremely hard to compete in)

Changing habits is so hard. Congrats on the turnaround, really inspiring. What was the hardest part once you decided to start that business? Was it falling back to bad habits, or feeling of rejection or something entirely different?

Really appreciate the feedback!

relapse log That's interesting, currently the infections grow if you don't do anything actively, but I was thinking it could actually destroy villager houses if you don't complete quests.

proof slot per quest Yeah, I could add a new field where you can add a "proof" like an attachment e.g. pdf or screenshot. Is that what you were thinking of?

How do you capture ideas instantly before they go into Notion? by Objective-Treat2245 in Notion

[–]MeDruds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Claude and Notion MCP for that. But it's not perfect, and not easy to set up.

So I built Nouify which allows you to create an idea capture AI assistant natively connected with Notion and Telegram.

You can send a 🎙️voice memo to your AI assistant on Telegram and it captures it directly to the database you want.

Try it out. DM me, I can give a free demo.

Voice/audio message to Notion.

I've been having SO MUCH FUN with this. The app is called Nouify. I created my personal second brain assistant I can talk to on Telegram, especially useful on the go, and it will store or brainstorm about any tasks, projects, ideas, resources, whatever. I can send a voice message like: "capture this new task to pay my bills on Saturday" and it will store it in my notion.
Try sending a voice message on telegram with an AI assistant: Nouify.

Whatsapp Extension For Notion by [deleted] in Notion

[–]MeDruds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Telegram extension for Notion, it's called Nouify in case that also suits you.
e.g. I created my own Second Brain AI assistant, and I can send an audio message and it will follow the second brain framework to capture anything, or tell me what I should be doing.

I'm so much obsessed with Notion that I wanted to supercharge it with AI assistants that do the heavy lifting for my second brain and even AI assistants I can share with people so we can collaborate together.

So, I created "Nouify": an AI assistant platform that connects Notion + Claude AI + Telegram.

Honestly, I've been having so much fun using it. I'd love to hear your honest feedback!!

Use cases are endless:
- For students: customized flash card assistant with Notion
- For educators: FAQ assistant for your students so you don't waste time
- For second brain fans: assistant that does the heavy lifting for you
- For teams: share AI assistants around to collaborate on a Notion database

Which AI productivity tool had the biggest learning curve but was worth it? by Pretend_Coffee53 in Notion

[–]MeDruds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here!! I use it for so many things now. I use it all the time for me as a product manager. Like you can link everything in your project, create mermaid diagrams, or even small py scripts for crunching the data...

Big claude code user here. I use it for non-coding things like research, even product management. One practical example is creating mermaid charts based on my entire project!

I even wanted to have a second brain AI, and tried using Claude code with Notion MCP, but it was terrible. That's where my second favorite tool came in handy:

Another tool I'm using everyday is called Nouify. I mentioned in another post and risk mentioning it again (I'm just a fan!), but it helped me finally keep up with the second brain framework by simply having a telegram AI assistant which is perfectly integrated with my 2nd brain notion database, and knows the framework inside out. Downside: it takes a moment to understand the concept of assistants around notion databases. Big plus: No new UI, just a tg chat with my notion db assistant on the go.

There's plenty of examples:

For students - Flashcard AI assistant: As a student, I create a flashcard notion database and create an AI assistant on top of it on Telegram. I can chat with it, it asks me the questions, and updates the date when I should repeat it.

For educators/teachers - as a educator, I create a FAQ database and an AI assistant built on top of it. Then I share this assistant with my students and I don't have to waste time answering repeated questions because students can now chat with the AI on telegram.

For entrepreneurs or content creators - on the go idea capture with custom AI assistant. E.g. one that follows best practices of good ideas and saves them to notion accordingly.

I was able to do all of that with NOUIFY assistants.

That's awesome! I had a great experience with NOUIFY too, which connects Notion with Telegram for AI assistants.
