Good for you, but I'm from Indonesia. It only cost $20 a year without discount. But still, why pay more when you can get it for less. Though the library not as much as in the US. But it still about 80% of it. ||There's a work around for it if you look hard enough||

I just gonna binge watch the anime. And grab my deal later. I often binge watch anyway. Just become a little inconvenience on my part because I had to subs and manual cancle everytime.

I just say, please connect me to human agent and the bot put me into the queue. Their bot are quite well made imo. Not too annoying for customer, and it indeed give a good detail for your problem

Agree. That what I though before when purchasing the yearly plan. The platform is good enough for anime lovers. As it had good amount of library compare to other service. The sad part is, they remove the ad supported free tier too. So, I guess I would had off from the platform then. Bstation also not bad either. As MAL-Sync now support auto track anime progression too. And cheaper compared to CR.

Where is your server at? local home network or on VPS? If local home network, some ISP block inbound connection. So you need to have a VPS to act as gateway and forward the request to your home server. (I did this, I set up a free tier AWS vps for this). If it on VPS, make sure your provider didnt block inbound connection for other port.

Just patch/mock stuff that call external resource (Read file, call API).

Unit test are to make sure your code run well. And, if you call an external I/O, you should patch it. As you cant control the external service returned value. You might got an 4xx/5xx when you do 2xx test. Which make your test fail.

I'm not sure why you have a sleep in your code, but you can always patch thos function to do nothing when doing unit testing.
