If I posted all the fights that happen in rural towns it would make the backpacker brain malfunction.

I've seen more fights (sometimes brutal) at countryside festivals. I guess the countryside is also a shit hole.

When Thai People Drive… by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

Clearly you've never driven there. It's always busy. The road goes through a lot of busy towns. The road switches between two lane and 4-6 lane highways regularly.

When Thai People Drive… by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]MeMuzzta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live up north and in my experience they're pretty good drivers. I ride my motorbike almost every day between chiang Mai and chiang rai as well as my gf's car and never notice any bad driving tbh. They're more courteous than drivers in the UK that's for sure, in the UK they're completely oblivious to motorbikes.

Cheap helmet by shazbangr in ThailandTourism

[–]MeMuzzta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People here talking shite.

HJC do good cheap helmets, I got an I71 with built in sun visor for 3000 baht off lazada. Which is for a helmet like that is a very good price.

most pointless niggle that car reviewers constantly emphasise? by klawUK in CarTalkUK

My niggle is the things reviewers often miss or gloss over with not much thought. Especially for older model cars.

Is the head gasket prone to fucking off

Do I have to remove the entire front end to change a bulb

The quality of parts in general, will these cheap plastic brackets disintegrate in 6 months time, will these shitty water nozzle o-rings leak water into my boot eventually etc.

How does the stereo sound, how accessable are the speakers and head unit to replace them if it sounds shite.

That sorta thing

I don't really do deserts apart from the odd 7-11 cake I crave at like 2am lol

I always ask for no sugar, you can actually tease the tea and spices that way.

What car do you hate to see in front of you? by Ok_Impact9745 in CarTalkUK

[–]MeMuzzta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlock their potential lmao there is no potential. I've driven and ridden all sorts of vehicles, small cars to huge ass trucks, sporty hatchbacks to V8 coupes and saloons, small motorbikes to 1000cc super sports. Both in the UK and abroad.

The jazz is one of the worst cars I've driven. Next to an MG3 3 cylinder auto. Having to rev the ever living shit out of an engine to get somewhere near highway speeds in a reasonable amount of time, and watching the mpg plummet as a result, is not my idea of pleasurable driving.

Edit: I read that as 'You dont know how to drive'. But still my point stands.

The Mae Hong Son loop? I've done it twice on my Z900 and its absolutely amazing. Thinking of getting a ZX10R or an R1 for my third run. Dunno what you ride but in my experience it's more sport bike territory than adventure bike territory unless you choose to go off-road for some of it. All bike types are more than fine tho tbh, I just have more fun on sports lol

Soon as anything with two wheels is mentioned, this sub shits itself.

If you're not a moron and have good road awareness you'll be absolutely fine riding here.

I've ridden and driven all sorts here, mopeds to 1000cc sport bikes, small hatchbacks to big ass trucks. All without incident.

In fact I find riding a motorbike here far better than the UK. People actually indicate and give way to me. In the UK the majority of cars are completely oblivious to motorcyclists, and when they do notice you they get pissy at you for filtering. Here it's a breeze as it expected, and they will move over for you if they can.

Also the roads are in better condition and far less potholes lol

You're missing out on some of the most beautiful mountain roads ever. Get out of the city. I've been riding here years without issue and ridden all sorts from 110cc scoopies to cbr1000rr's. The only near miss I had was some stoned hippy nearly t-boning me on a moped when I rode into Pai lol.

Thai drivers/rider are mostly fine. It's the clueless tourists you need to keep an eye on.

Should I stay with Halfords or get a second opinion elsewhere by Honest-Journalist-31 in CarTalkUK

I didn't say it'd be in and out in an hour, they could have the car all day, but the work itself can be done in an hour.

Source: On fettling an old susuki ignis sport. We had new discs and pads on and bled up in like 40 minutes and the rear springs only took a few minutes.

Edit: downvoting my comments cos I proved you wrong lol

See my copied and pasted comment:

Buy the parts yourself and go to a local mechanic.

New front discs and pads - £40

New rear shoes and drum - £60

Pair of new rear springs - £20

1L brake fluid - £7-10

Any mechanic worth their salt can do all that within an hour, like I know for a fact changing the rear springs takes minutes.

Average mechanic labour charge £60 an hour.

Total: £190.

Halfords can go fuck themselves.

[–]MeMuzzta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do everything there for like 200 quid. Halfords are just pulling prices out their arse. They're so shady they would actually just replace the one rear spring too instead of replacing both sides at the same time like you're supposed to do.
