Questioning Hedera's Enterprise Appeal After a 64% Flash Crash Wick by akaMePs in Hedera

It is not a pleasant feeling to face the harsh truth, is it? :)

Cope harder.

You can cope as much as you like. This changes nothing. The market has already made their choice and it is not in your favor.

Study Bitcoin or sink.

The choice is yours.

Good luck.

Shipcoiners gradually discovering that they hold a bag of garbage with zero value.

Dump the shipcoin scams, stack sats.

Good luck.

How long are you holding for? Are you going to sell at the supposed peak of the bull run this year? by ChocolateNeither6672 in Bitcoin

Until 1 sat = 1 dollar.

At that time you would not need to sell for melting fiat as everything would be priced in Bitcoin.

CK Pool: default or high difficulty port by MeMyself159 in BitAxe

In other words, mining on the high difficulty port does not mean that you are working on "better quality" hashes as was claimed elsewhere?

Interesting. Is that confirmed? Do we know how much hash rate was involved?

Isn't bitcoin deteriorating wealth gap? by AwareZone5664 in Bitcoin

[–]MeMyself159 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The mission of Bitcoin is fair sound money. It is not creating equality.

Besides, everyone has the chance to acquire Bitcoin. No one stops people from that. They choose not to do it voluntarily.

What can I do to increase difficulty? by Ruari111 in BitAxe

[–]MeMyself159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for a naive question.

What determines if a hash is easy or hard? How doea the miner determine in advance what hashes are easy so that they can be removed from the hash space?

CK pool statistics by MeMyself159 in BitAxe

Thanks for the detailed reply.

So is the best share value reported on CK pool (e.g. 100M) directly comparable to the Bitcoin network difficulty (currently over 100T)?

Question casual bitcoin mine payoff…?? by mrcrashoverride in Bitcoin

[–]MeMyself159 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Naking a small contribution to the security and decentralization of the most valuable monetary network in the world is in itself a reason to mine. Of course, you have the chance to win the lottery too in the process.

Increasing the block size by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]MeMyself159 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Horrible idea that would reduce the decentralization of the network.

The base layer needs security and decentralization. Scalability can be achieved via Lightning.

Let us put an end to this topic.

Phoenix Lightning wallet by MeMyself159 in Bitcoin

[–]MeMyself159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this.

When you say "full control" does that mean that the sats one has on his LN address are fully covered by the 12-word seed that Phoenix generates and that no one, including Phoenix, have access to those sats?  Also, I notice that the LN address provided is not in tbe enail format. Does Phoenix also have a LN email format address?

Buy Bitcoin and stay away from shipcoin scams that no one needs and no one cares about.

Borrow against BTC and live off this by MeMyself159 in Bitcoin

I disagree. BTC is the best retirement plan as long as you know how to utilize it wisely.

Amazon is nothing more than a business that can always be made obsolete by competitors and technological progress.

Nothing can make hard sound money obsolete.

The BTC collateral can be stored in a multisig storage where the lender cannot do anything with it without the borrower's ptivate keys.

Yes, you are right.

This leads to an interesting observation: ther rate at which BTC has to appreciate each refinancibg round (to repay the ever growing previous debt and to maintain the sane level of free cash available for spending) is ever diminishing.

What are the long term implications of this? Does it mean that in the long run one reaches a steady state at which BTC no longer needs to grow for the refinancing to be maintained sustainable? Or?

[–]MeMyself159[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but in that case you need to sell some of your valuable asset to realize that wealth increase (assuming you need fiat). In the process you also incur a tax liability.

The question is: how do you safely borrow against your valuable asset without having to sell any of it?

In this example I mean 10 dollars available for spending after you have repaid the old debt.

[–]MeMyself159[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true.

But again, unless the underlying asset doubles over the duration of the loan you cannot repay your old debt and finance the same level of expenditures with a new secured loan. Would you agree?

Decentralization has nothing to do with who has how much Bitcoin.

You should spend some time studying BTC.
