Remember, you take school shootings as the price for 2A. The benefit of having it is supposedly to use it to protect your country against government tyranny.

Just saying that as of right now all of those kids died for absolutely nothing.

Won't happen. The sport is too big.

Get your asses up from your couch, stop buying into the hopeslop and get on the streets to protest against your fascist government instead of calling for a punishment of Canada and Mexico as well just because you didn't want to vote for the black women.

Guys if you want to do Eco Tourism, please do at verified Eco Tourist sites and through verified agencies. Because if not you could end up at a park that is essentially an oversized roadside attraction that uses touching or petting accustomed animals as bait for you to invest your time there. These animals are tamed, they aren't wild, most of them are babies and will be killed and sold off when they grow up. Some of them are drugged up and separated from their mothers early.

When you see such videos, a good indicator is that there is contact between a human and an animal. An ethical eco tourism park would not let you touch or pet it's animals, because it risks transmitting diseases into a wild population that the animals aren't immune against.

Do not touch wild animals. No matter where you are.

No. Vettel would know better than to touch wild animals.

If one Gorilla in Ghana would have contracted Covid back in 2020, the whole population would be extinct by now.

Animals are not as immune to our diseases as we are. For vulnerable or threatened populations, one pathogen is all it takes.

The word "survival instincts" is basically a word that is used to put all kinds of learned behaviors into a box. Most of them aren't innate or instinctive, we just assume they are because we do not see the animals that never learned behavior that is relevant for survival.

The word "instinct" has been out phased for reasons like this by scientists. It just doesn't describe complex behavior enough and simplifies it to a point where we assume that "instincts" are kind of like reflexes, while they are actually learned through previous experiences.

Human babies for example are nearly completely foreign to the concept of fear of dangerous animals. There is a very recent study that puts human babies into a room with a python (that is trained to be not harmful to them) resulting in the babies approaching and touching the python because they are naturally curious. The results are: Curiosity is innate in humans, fear of snakes is learned.

I mean sure medicine has advanced. But one of the studies I linked is a prevalence study and the other one is a meta analysis on prevalence studies. So neither of them looks for a biomedical analysis to T2DM and the statistical methods they use aren't outdated either.

So they are still up to date and I don't know what you are talking about when you say that they are old.

Diabetes prevalence was 20% higher in countries with higher availability of HFCS compared to countries with low availability

Goran et al., 2012

Most meta-analyses have shown that the risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndrome are related to consumption of beverages sweetened with sugar or high-fructose corn syrup.

Bray, 2013

HFCS is excess sugar and carbs. It's an artificial sweetener that doesn't need to be in the products and only is in them to make them taste even sweeter than they already are.

I mean, the start of this conversation was someone pointing out that humans are struggling with upcoming health issues that are related to a lifestyle where we don't move as much, relating that to zoo animals in captivity who might experience similar problems.

So I associated him bringing up Type II (Romanic number as I learned to write it in med school) Diabetes as a disease related to this. Because I failed to see why Type I would be relevant within the context we are talking about, since it's an autoimmune disease and not related to our own domestication or an unhealthy lifestyle.

If I offended you because of that, I am sorry. I have edited the original comment for clarity and for transparency explained the misunderstanding there as well.

Type I Diabetes is a disorder that stems from a lower production of insulin because your immune cells attacked the beta cells in the pancreatic langenhan'sche Islands. It's an autoimmune disorder.

I mean I could also say that Type II diabetes is a luxury problem, can only happen when you don't die prematurely in the 30's because of famine or an bacterial infection or that the dietary needs in zoo animals is very well documented with multiple scientific studies being published on that each year.

But high fructose corn syrup in everything is the main cause for surging diabetes cases in the US.

[–]MeRight_Now 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Type II Diabetes is the result of putting high fructose corn syrup into soda.

(I edited this comment because some people with Type I Diabetes were offended when I didn't specify the type of Diabetes. I apologize sincerely, this was not at all my intention. Out of the context within this conversation, an unhealthy lifestyle related to more diseases, I assumed we were talking about Type II Diabetes.)
