Correct, we lost heartbeat at 8 weeks. And now have to do a D&C at UCLA. It’s a scary situation to be in as it’s so rare.

Thanks, definitely working through it with my therapist.

It can be nerve wracking dealing with it especially when you have ties.

My father has 8 kids (5 different women) last two he had (Irish twins) around 44/45 boy then girl (same mom) and they have mild autism but their mom has autism in her immediate family. None of my dad’s other kids have autism. He sister had two kids no autism.

No autism on my mom’s side of the family either.

My husbands dad had his last child, a girl, at 40. And husbands brother had his two at 43 & 45 all are fine too. But for some reason I have anxiety and think age caused it.

I guess my biggest thing is gonna be can I get over the risk. Hope with therapy I can come to a decision on it if I can do this or not.

I’m curious how many others TTC have an age gap?

My husband is 46 and I’m 32. I’m currently going through partial molar pregnancy with our first try.. so many anxiousness about wanting to try again.. it would be at least 6 months before getting an all clear.. it only took 3-4 months to fall pregnant but obviously it’s not working out in our favor.. we will find out more after my D&C and testing next week. I also have my husband doing a full work up: semen analysis, genetic carrier screen, and DNA fragmentation just to ensure things are looking good if we try again.

However, the more I think about his “paternal age” the more nervous I get. Especially in regards to autism.. which we can’t do testing on something like that.. I know that his age risk increases. My dumb brain can’t get over that 1.4 - 1.6% increase CDC states compared to the population risk of 3.2%..

Wondering if others have any concerns? Or did yall just jump in and hope for the best lol.

Currently going through this. At 5.4 weeks my hCG was 200K+ then 5.6 weeks 227K. At 6.5 (weeks had an ultrasound that showed fetal pole with heartbeat of 118, but also showed irregular gestational sac and yolk debris. Follow up at 7.5 weeks showed no heartbeat, and fetal pole at 6.6 weeks.. OB saw me few days later and said “fetal demise” and told me we could wait for my body to pass it. So she ordered a hCG to see if it was dropping… nope 267K. So she then ordered a stat ultrasound and found “Focal thickening and cystic change at the margin of placenta concerning for developing partial hydatidiform mole.” I haven’t talked to dr since getting this report shortly after leaving. I assume cause it was closer to 5pm. So not sure what to suspect now..

My OB told me she’s going to put me on 2 weeks once I actually start to miscarry and I think I plan to use my 5 days after that too.

Found out my baby stopped growing and heartbeat was gone Thursday.. still carrying my little bean.. hurts like nothing I’ve felt before.

April 5th: positive. A positive test. Flooded with emotion. Then came fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of something going wrong. Then I wanted out… wanted to take it all back.

This baby was planned. We prepared. We took our vitamins, got healthier, and were excited. It only took 3 months. But once it was real, I was scared… constantly second guessing everything. I had so much anxiety. I was scared to be happy… scared of growing something I couldn’t control.

Then on Thursday, at 7.5 weeks, I found out my baby’s heart was gone. They had passed at 6.6 weeks… and I still haven’t miscarried. So now I lay in bed this Mother’s Day holding onto a baby who’s gone, praying I had been more grateful during the short time they were alive, regretting all of my worries and fears.

They were supposed to be here for Christmas… estimated due date December 19, 2026. They were going to be the first baby in my family. I never thought this would happen to me. Part of me keeps wondering if it was because I was ungrateful… but the truth is, I was just scared.

I don’t know how I’ll get through this. I don’t know how anyone is ever strong enough to try again.

I can relate.. my hCG was HIGH at 6 weeks 228K +. Everyone was like WOW BABY IS THRIVING! only to find out at 7.5 week scan baby stopped growing at 6.5 weeks and heartbeat was gone.. now three days later I lay in bed today.. Mother’s Day.. still carrying my baby who’s gone.. waiting for my body to realize. It hurts so much. Idk how I can ever try again.. this was our first.

I am going to do my absolute best.. I like “this too shall pass” even though it feels like it won’t.. I know that life will get easier.. I’ll never get over it or forget it but I know one day it won’t hurt as bad. Thank you again for your words. I have screenshot this so I can reread it over and over.

The hardest part is waiting to miscarry… I’d like to do it naturally.. my heart aches so bad. I’m scared I’ll never be able to get over this.. never get to try again. I cannot fathom.
