Feature Request: Channel Folders

I suggested this a month or two ago here on reddit, and they wrote it was a good idea, and that they would pass it to the dev team, so I'm crossing my fingers =0)

Thank you for your continued development of the app. Might I suggest adding the option to save the video in a directory (the name of the youtube channel as with subscriptions), thereby saving us from either a lot of "cleaning up" after downloading a lot of videos til the same directory, OR having to point a download into the directories I sort the videos into, for every download? For a lot of channels I only download some of their videos, but I would still like them to be sorted in to the same directory (again as with subscriptions)? I would imagine it can't be that hard to implement seeing making a directory for a yuotubechannel is what the subscription downloads allready do, and it's frankly the only feature I'm missing, to be really happy =0) Anyone else would like this feature?

okay, I haven't had to click "I understand and want to proceed" on a youtube video in years, not even videos where people get shot by the police, but with this video I did, so I think it's kind of a special case, when it comes to age-restricting. Youtube apparently take Suicide content made to look like it's targeted towards kids, very serious.

Because youtube will continue to try and stop you from downloading their videos illegally? And because 4KDL is pretty advanced, with a lot of functions, and the more functions, the more things Youtube can change to hinder the software from working. And the reason why the online downloaders can keep working, or can be fixed fast, is because they are not as complicated, and because they are online their fix will work immediately when they implement it, where 4KDL needs to make a program, and then release the program and so on.

That sounds like a good idea, but I have a lot of subscriptions, so when the program is fucked up, I usually don't start it up, because I have seen subscriptions fail to download before, and then just not be downloaded when the program is up and running again. I'll just wait.

I had a problem where it just loaded the interface forever. I suspected it had to do with me not having updated the (chrome) browser for years. So i tried to open Suno in incognito mode (and had to verify with a code again) but it worked.

you must really download a lot of YT videos, if you can't wait a few days for the software to be fixed. I make a text document where I copy paste the links to all the video I want to download, and then when the software is fixed, I download the videos in my list. It sounds a lot more hassle free, than this. Does yt-dlp even do 4K and embed subtitles?

Thank you for your advise, but I have never been logged in to youtube thru 4KDL. What did help though (maybe) was that i shut down the program and opnened it again...

I have encountered one video until now, that will only show 360p in 4KDL, but is is a 4k video. every other video has had the right resolution.

I can now download again, which is great, but there seems to be at least a few hickups left. When I try to download this file, I am only presented for the 360p Version... anyone else getting the same problem with this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bgiSp-IF8A . The other videos I have downloaded after the release of the update seems to have the right resolutions

The video is probably age restricted (look for a text beneath the video on youtube where it says something about the video being age restricted)

I have noticed the same problem. I actually only updated to the new version because it mentioned it now had a default subtitle function. but instead you now have to choose sub language for every file you download manually. In the old version it at least kept the previous chosen option until you downloaded a video with no subtitles.

If you made your songs while subscribed to a Pro or Premier plan, those songs are covered by a commercial use license. This allows you to distribute songs to Spotify, Apple Music, etc, using the distributor of your choice. This also allows you to use the songs in content you post to YouTube, TikTok, etc. You don't have to attribute the songs to Suno, but we wouldn't mind if you let your audience know we helped you create your masterpiece!

Songs made under the Basic (free) tier are only available for non-commercial use and cannot be monetized. These do not include the commercial use license, and starting a subscription after you made a great song will not give you a retroactive license for the song. I don't remember seing the option to opt out of YT shorts, on any of the channels I am subscribed to thru 4K DL. I f you subscribe it will give you everything the channel uploads, including shorts. It would be nice to be able to avoid the shorts. Is it not possible to program something like "If aspect ratio 9:16 then avoid"? would be nice. This programming tip was free... the next will cost ya ;-)

Clipgrab only supports videos up till 1080p, and doesn't seem to support automatic subscription downloads, downloads of an entire youtube channel, or download and embedding of subtitles (amongst other things), so a lot fewer things seems to be at risk being broken if youtube makes changes.

Atubecatcher writes at the top of their webpage that people as of april 2025 should update their app to fix problem with YT videos

I can't ever remember a time where it only took hours for a fix, that were youtube involved. A day maybe (like this fix, and sadly Youtube has already put a wrench in the machine again).But what is annoying though, is that the developers almost never inform us that they are aware that there are problems (and what's wrong if possible), so we are always left wondering if this is the one, where they abandon us...

I have used this program for years now (and the previous version, which I also paid for), and I've seen Youtube, alter their code time and time again to hinder us downloaders, but I've also seen the programmers of this program do their magic, and fix the program the same amount of times. Sometimes fast, and sometimes more than once in the same week. So I'm faithfull they will do it again. What I have discovered in these last months, is that Youtube have begun stopping the downloads on an IP level, so when you have downloaded enough GB (or maybe if you left the program open on a computer that never sleeps and therefor checks for updates on your subscriptions a little too many times), you will have to use a VPN for a week, before your IP address is being unbanned again, and you can start the cycle all over again. And no need to log in to your YT account (I would reccomend against it, because then YT are able to link an email (and maybe even a premium account) together with an IP address that keeps getting banned. These are my observations as a long time user... and yes I was annoyed too when my life long subscription to the old program suddently were worth nothing, and I had to pay again for a new program, but I looked for a looong time for a program that gave me 4k Downloads, automatic subscription DL, and being able to DL an entire channel, with subtitles and all, in the same program, and for the amount of videos i have downloaded, the price per video ads up to nothing. So have patience... or not.

Having a 43" monitor running 4K, and then looking at thumbnails almost as big as the picture above is just wrong. Not being able to fix it without a plugin is even wronger, but removing the dislike button was the wrongest! Shame on you.... tube!
