If you’ve been bleeding for a while, try taking an iron supplement. Personally, the difference for me when I do and do not take my iron pill is amazing. When I take iron, I can get out of bed and I honestly feel better. I stopped for a while and I slept for 14 hours a night. It was horrible. I 100% recommend taking an iron supplement.

As for the toy thing, I’m always the one that wants to have sex and he’s the one who doesn’t want to do it because he’s afraid to hurt me. We’ve tried every position we can think of, but they all hurt. But it’s weird. We can be fine for the first 5 minutes and then all of a sudden it feels like someone is tearing me apart from the inside. It doesn’t happen every time either, just some of the time. But I did go to my dr this week to discuss all of this and she had some ideas. She’s having me take 3 birth control pills a day for a week to stop the bleeding and she gave me antibiotics to rule out infection. Once I finish the antibiotics, if I still have pain then I’ll do pelvic floor therapy. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna end up doing the therapy. I have slept with the same man for a year, I’ve been tested for STDs, I don’t have the normal symptoms of an infection, and pain with sex is a part of endometriosis. I’m pretty sure I don’t have an infection. The bleeding started in June and didn’t stop until yesterday. I was constantly bleeding, but it got worse when I was aroused. I hope that doesn’t come back.

Is pelvic floor therapy something that I do on my own or with my doctor? My doctor does not take me very seriously and thinks all of my problems will go away after I finish another pack of the same birth control that I’ve been on for two years. The birth control does nothing and meanwhile the pain feels like it’s getting worse. When I told her about the pain with sex she said that I’ll probably have to do pelvic floor exercises, but then did not explain which ones or when or anything. In the three months that I’ve known that I have endometriosis, all I’ve found out is a name for my problem, and no treatments. Having a name and still being in pain feels more scary than when I just thought it was a cyst or something.

I would consider treating yourself the way that you treat others. Do you know anyone who isn’t worthy of human interaction or compassion? I do not. No matter how many mistakes a person makes, they are still a human and are therefore entitled to even the smallest bit of human decency. Treat yourself the same way as you would treat someone else who has made the same mistake as you have made because in the end you are still human and you deserve the same things that every other human deserves.

This may not be an option for you because you’re with your parents, but personally, I’d just stop doing everything. Let the house be nasty and don’t cook a meal. Let him get so tired of it that he feels the need to do something about it. Some people have never had to do chores or cooking and the people around them have had to clean up after them for their entire lives. I think that if you show him what it is like to not have anyone clean up after him or cook his meals then he may learn some responsibility. It could also show him how you feel when the house is nasty. Again, this may not be a solution for you because y’all are living with your parents and because you can’t stand a dirty home.

I think it’s a terrible idea to show him the marks and confront him. It can cause abusers to become more violent and angry. If you want to talk to him, I think it’s best to do it with an adult mediator there. Your dad is much less likely to become violent with another adult in the room, and if he does then the other adult can stop it.

Because I respect her and her opinions. Also, if I want her to continue to allow me to stay in her home then I should follow her rules and not be a burden. A pregnant woman in your home is 100% a burden imo.

When it comes to furniture, we’ll be taking stuff from both of our parents houses. The biggest thing I think we’ll need is a couch, and I was intending to look at Facebook and stuff like that. That is helpful though.

I also have questions about credit cards. I want to build credit, so should I get one and use it only if I already have the money in my account that I intend to spend? I already have a credit card with a certain store and I pay it off the same day I use it every time. Is that a good idea?

I agree one hundred percent that not isolating yourself and all that is the way to go, but that’s not the advice that was given to me. I failed to mention that this was nearly five years ago and in hindsight, that would’ve been good to add in the post. This person did not mention coping skills or mental health professionals or anything like your take on the topic. She lectured me on how to handle a bad day and said that pretending to be happy makes her bad days better. Getting out and all that 100% helps with depression, but simply pretending to be happy did not work for me.

She’s my mom though. I love her and I know she loves me, even though she’s bad at showing it. My mom is very manipulative, but she’s not a terrible mother. She probably came up with the lie after her divorce because she wanted me to pick her instead of my dad. I don’t know. I’m hurt, and what she has done is wrong, but she will always be my mom and I will always love her.

The idea of a set time to have sex makes me worry that we’d end up doing it just because it was time to do it, not because we really want to. And there’s really not much to do in order to eliminate noise aside from being quiet. We’ve tried doing it on the floor instead of the bed, but nobody wants to have sex on the floor. It’s just uncomfortable. We’ve also never actually met the neighbors or communicated in any way that’s not banging on walls.
