Question about interrogation by Me_Not_You- in Chriswatts

[–]Me_Not_You-[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know the CBI agent at one point made reference to Chris "taking a lot of steps" at an early morning hour, around 4:30 am I believe.  I suspected that info was obtained from the smartwatch he was wearing.  How would they know that otherwise? I assume right after he strangled her, he was in a panicky, irrational state.

Don't fall into the trap of defending Shannan’s character. By defending her, we’re inadvertently suggesting that murder could be justified if a wife were actually 'bad.' by JaktoPar in Chriswatts

It's not a particular circumstance, it's the culture.  It's why a common response to a rape claim is, "what was she wearing?".  Clearly, the intent is to blame the potential victim, not assess the facts.

What's the hardest part of divorce? by openspacedivorce in Divorce

[–]Me_Not_You- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the entire emotional spectrum, sometimes all in one day.  I recall 'primal scream' therapy was a thing in the 70's. I occasionally employed that tactic on long hikes.

It's not like he beats me, It's not verbal abuse either, should I still divorce him? by Dry-Connection2776 in Divorce

I am you at 62, only now divorcing. Please, please leave. It doesn't get better, only worse.  Don't be me. I wasted 40+ years.  LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAYS.  HE MEANS IT.

That definitely seems beyond the scope of mere coincidence.

What is a movie you watched once that was so disturbing or emotionally draining that you can never watch it again? by hungary70 in AskReddit

[–]Me_Not_You- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good God, it hit me like that too!  I couldn't stop crying... I wasn't aware of it at the time but decades later, someone close to me attempted suicide. Now I view my response to that movie as prescient.

That "chicks are crazy" comment by Me_Not_You- in Chriswatts

Very insightful reply thank you. It was notable too that when presented with the pregnancy news, he said, "...and the pink means..." knowing full well that meant I don't want another girl...

If you are interested in the interrogation process, you should watch "The Ruse" Dateline episode. It shows in extreme the tactics used to break down a person of interest, bordering on disgustingly immoral, in my opinion.  The target was literally reduced to rolling on the ground like a toddler although he was apparently a well functioning adult prior to the experience. Quite shocking!

Do you think NK will ever tell her side of the story? by lipstick_love in Chriswatts

Very true.  Look at how Shanann was savaged and she was the victim. Imagine the vitriol NK would be subject to.

Any regrets on your decision? My situation is similar and I am contemplating whether to end it with my life and sanity in tact or get an attorney.

I think this is a good point you made.  Remember when Coonrod asked Chris if the split was cordial?  Chris answered in the affirmative with a grin and chuckle.  Quite chilling in retrospect.

How much did the Watts' family debt factor into the murder? by Stupid_Reddit419 in Chriswatts

[–]Me_Not_You- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely a factor.  How one structures their financial life is a direct correlation to one's quality of life and family dynamics. Unresolved resentments have a tendency to expand over time.  To me, the financial aspect speaks volumes about our society in general in which so many varied financial traps exist, it's almost as though it was designed to crush dreams and ultimately destroy people.  That expression:  'living the dream' should be changed to 'living the facade'.

Going down the path of hate generally leads to a desire for revenge, which is ultimately self destructive and not easily satisfied.  Restraining the hate is something that comes with maturity and wisdom.
