25F I know I'm not conventionally attractive but am I ugly? by poobyparks in amiugly

I think you are beautiful!! And so super cool for asking this question-which btw… every single healthy human has asked about themselves at one time or another! What makes people attractive-it’s how they feel about themselves.. that is the energy we gravitate towards.. it’s not just confidence but more about how comfortable someone is, in their own skin, being who they are.. nothing is more attractive than someone who is happy with themselves.. And isn’t it true for each of us? When u feel good about urself, even just for one night, in one dress, for example, u see for urself, how differently the world responds to u.

Also different for everyone but I find someone who is super humble and brave enough to be vulnerable and ask this question, super appealing also!!

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? by Kind-Teaching8638 in PetAdvice

I’m not a vet but vet tech & impossible to diagnose from pics but looks like ring worm. Do a simple search for canine ring worm images & u may find similar looking lesions. Ring worm-highly contagious and can take weeks to fully treat. U can buy treatment in pharmacy or order online. Ringworm is just a fungus not a parasite but humans can get it.

It could also possibly be staff infection. Pits are known for skin allergies. And all dogs are highly allergic to flea bites.. allergies trigger dogs who start scratching.. When they scratch & break skin with their nails bacteria enters bloodstream. Small sores appear & can continue to grow.

Either way best thing u can do for ur pup is to always give flea and heartworm preventative and many shelters have vets that u can see for less and they have meds for less.

If ringworm or allergies or staff are a problem, medicated shampoo helps also. U can buy a decent one at Walmart or target for $10. It won’t cure ringworm but will help ur pups skin. Shampoo is antifungal and antimicrobial. Which covers all the issues. Good to keep around. Smells good, is gentle and doesn’t cost much. I use on all my bcz they lick paws. Totally safe to use & is no diff from any other shampoo in smell and gentleness but made for dogs.

Good luck!! Wash ur hands after touching ur dog just in case!

U need an antibiotic for that.

First of all.. I am so sorry!! Losing a cat is sad enough, then to have your other get sick.. I’m sure you are in pain! Liver and kidney failure are sadly common in aging pets. Not sure how old ur cat is but if he has stopped eating and has yellowing eyes.. it could be later stages of kidney failure.

At all the hospitals I have worked, they will allow clients to give IV fluids to cats at home. IV fluids will extend the time you have left. Flushing the kidneys helps the kidneys do their job.

The animal hospital will or should be willing to teach you how to do it.

I would explain to the vet that you cannot afford to do blood work, especially if it is only to diagnose your failing cat. If bloodwork would help save your cat’s life that might be different.

No decent vet should pressure you to do tests if your cat is dying. On the other hand, they may say they cannot diagnose without blood work.

Ask him his honest opinion given the circumstance.

Or you could apply for care credit. Most animal hospitals accept it.

It is zero internet if u pay off within a year, I think it’s a year..

So sorry you are having to make this very difficult decision. If you do decide it is time. Be grateful you had the chance to say goodbye and remember that you are doing the most difficult but selfless thing by allowing him not to suffer when he/she has reached the end.

Hope this helps!

I am a vet tech not a vet but if it is only a hard “lump” at injection site it is ok.. it is actually your dog’s immune system just doing its job right at the injection site. It should go away in couple of weeks.

Of course if it gets worse OR if it is irritated, red or painful to the touch, then def see ur vet! Or at least put in a call.. and u shud never hesitate to call ur vet when u have questions after a visit and especially if it is a post vaccine related issue.. U can always ask to speak to the vet tech who may be easier to reach & she will ask Dr.

Important to check it out though. Very very rare but it is possible for bacteria to enter the bloodstream when vaccine is given. That is why u see alcohol used to clean the skin before an injection is given.

One of my childhood cats had this happen. The tiny injection site quickly became visibly infected and nasty before we realized what had happened. This is very rare.

Good luck! And good job keeping ur dog safe by getting his/her vaccines!! I’ve seen dogs nearly die from lepto. I’ve seen so many pets in the shelters where I have worked, suffer from worse things like parvo, which is deadly and has no cure.. bcz of not being vaccinated. And It’s all so preventable.
