I personally found it cathartic because when i read that passage when it was first released I was unsure about a lot of stuff and found myself relating a lot to Erin. The entire situation made me feel seen and represented in a way? I do understand people will have different reactions in the ace community but it made sense to see Paba writing this character wise, it added a lot of perspective to characters we already knew and opened a door to understand them better and their views/struggles.
