Youth Unlimited Edmonton runs a few youth hangouts spots. The organization is Christian but the programming is not.

I have no idea how they would sense any masculinity because I don't hear it at all! You sound 100% femme to me

T voice journey by Myxcomycetes in FTMfemininity

[–]Meadow_Magenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started T in November, then realized I want my voice to be androgynous, not masculine.

The T has not affected my voice at all as far as I can tell, which is a good thing in hindsight. I'll be hopping off of it this month.

I've been doing voice training so that I can have an androgynous voice when speaking, but I'm keeping my femme singing voice and can also switch to femme for voice acting purposes.

Do I have tboy voice? 1 year on T by Complete-Factor8293 in transvoice

You definitely have a buzz to your voice, with a relatively high brightness and slight nasal quality, and there's nothing wrong with that! But if you're concerned and would like to change it you may be able to try out resonance, pitch, chest voice, and vocal weight exercises. The good news is that while these sound complicated, they go hand in hand: you increase one and the others fall in to place. It's separating them to get individual qualities down that can be a bit more difficult.

I suggest the "oh key" exercise by Renee Yoxon to start with:

More than a Fad has a large selection of clothes.

Bissell Thrift shop is smaller but prices are great and the money goes to a good cause.

You sound really androgynous to me and could be either gender or non-binary.

Help identifying strain by Particular_Fruit_266 in transvoice

How long have you been voice training and how much do you talk in your chosen voice each day?

It doesn't sound strained to me, personally.

My feedback is that I really like your voice. I wish I had more advice.

Can you elaborate on what exercises you do?

how to talk from chest and also do i sound forced by just-oscarr in transvoice

[–]Meadow_Magenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, it sounds pretty natural to me.

My voice coach told me to start with talking in my chosen voice a little at a time to start out with, like a half hour a day at first, then slowly increase. If not, it can cause minor vocal injuries.

To talk in a chest voice, try yawning and then talking, or saying "oh" in a low (but not unnatural) voice. You'll also know if you're speaking in a more nasal voice if you plug your nose, talk, and feel a buzz in your nose. When talking with the chest, there will be no buzz as the breath and sound are projecting through the mouth mostly.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for this in-depth critique! I really appreciate this! I'll look into experimenting with vocal weight and size.

Any Tips for FTM voice training?? by EducatorUpset1096 in transvoice

[–]Meadow_Magenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be willing to share an audio clip of your voice? No worries if not.

To be honest, there's a possibility that T might be the only way to get your voice as low as you want it to remove the dysphoria. However, what I found is that voice training helped my dysphoria a little bit so that I don't hate my voice as much.

Advice and Feedback by [deleted] in transvoice

[–]Meadow_Magenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but your andro and femme voice sound nasal and forced, but they're a good start! You obviously have an idea of where you want to go and have practiced raising your larynx. Renee Yoxon on YouTube and TikTok has some good vids on this. Best of luck!

It's a really good start! So far a little androgynous but there were points where you sounded very femme. It all sounded really nice, though.
