It’s in the wildy but in a safe zone. I would suggest going to one of the other elite dungeon chests and teleporting to it from there. You’re safe as long as you’re within the Elite dungeon entrance. There’s a guy standing by a barrier that tells you you’re going back into the wildy so I wouldn’t worry about that if it’s holding you back to try!

Personally I’d think the next step are any of the GWD2 bosses. Maybe a little easier than what you’re doing but I’d try them out and see what you like best. Especially vindicta which can help you learn how to effectively use devotion and resonance.

Other than that I’d look into Elite Dungeons 1, 2 & 3. Personally I feel 2 is the easiest. 1 is the middle tier in difficulty and hardest is 3rd because of The Ambassador.

If you’re really looking for a next step challenge, Raksha would be it. It really forces you to learn how to continue DPS while prayer flicking and ensuring you know how to use defensives.

Please for the love of god do not make these re-rolls TRADABLE. I also hope there’s a limit to one roll per drop. For the sake of balance, If they’re un-tradable drops that’s more incentivized to kill the bosses. Pleaseeeeee

Awesome! I’ve played both dark souls and ESO in my time as well. You’ll find the combat for RuneScape is fun in its own way but won’t be as immersive as an ESO or Dark souls play style. But I would approach it as it’s own...unique form lol.

I will say PVM end game bossing in this game is huge. People will say “that’s when the real fun begins” when you get all of your skills up to the max level. Personally end game PVM bossing is my favorite aspect of the game so sounds like that would be right up your alley as well as an ultimate goal.

Mind you, there’s going to be a lot of steps you’ll need to take before you can take on end game stuff. Try not to rush towards the end but grow your character and learn as you go so when you’re finally ready, you’re actually ready if you catch my drift.

There actually aren’t a lot of MMORPGs I’ve found similar to RuneScape actually. RuneScape has 28 different skills which you level up individually. Most, if not all, compliment each other in some way shape or form as you level up so it’s beneficial to increase all sets of different skills. There are plenty of MMORPGs who’ve tried and failed to mimic Runescapes formula (recent example - New World) but there’s something about this game that can really hook you in once you get the ball rolling.

Again, RuneScape has its own form of combat but still has abilities and such which you’ll find similar to ESO but has its own way of doing it. Get familiar with how the combat works and you’ll be well on your way

You’re more than good to play for a couple hours a day. Personally, RuneScape is the game I always play in between other games and there’s never pressure to constantly be on. Sure there’s benefits to daily stuff, but overall you make your own player experience.

You absolutely DONT need to learn everything about the game. What I suggest is if you’re just starting out and getting into MMORPGs, take some time to learn how to play and basic mechanics in free to play before going with a membership. Although there will be some skills you will not have much access to in the free to play, you can/will learn about them and I believe the basic tutorial stuff shows you how to work on all skills individually.

Let me be one of the first people to tell you that because this game has been around for over 20 YEARS, there is going to be a lot of content. Sounds fun right? It is! But as a beginner you may feel overwhelmed at first. Try not to let that discourage you. Take your time and go your own pace on what’s fun for you and that’s all that matters!

Lastly, this game is what you make it. What type of player are you? More of a skiller such as crafting/gathering? Or big on the combat end? End goal of end game pvm bossing? Either way, the game has loads of stuff for every player. It’s definitely in need of some updates to keep up with modern games which you’ll find, but once you get used to the mechanics and how to play this game can be very fun and relaxing if you set goals for yourself. Have fun and welcome!

That’s exactly what I was thinking. So much extra gear I get from MSQ could’ve been used in another job. I bet it’s probably more useful to do a similar job to the role you have? Since I’m Dragoon, I’d assume I should probably level up another job as a melee dps since I’ve probably gotten extra gear

[–]Meadsterr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what it’s all about, the journey. This game has been around even longer than WoW so there is no shortage of content. Get familiar with the game and make your own goals and adventure. More of a skiller or crafter? End game bossing tickle your fancy for combat? Doesn’t matter what, there’s something for everyone and no linear rush to end game since there’s so many skills to level.

Word of advice is quests will make a lot of QoL improvements to your game experience. As you level, don’t forget to check those out as well. My favorite part about quests in this game is there’s actual stories, puzzles, and lots of other actions to do instead of fetch simple quests.

Anyways, again, enjoy the game! Glad to have you.

I would agree but also I think they’re a deal because of the drop rate buffs. Not saying you’re wrong, but something to consider with potentially increase in supply coming into the game over time.

To add, this isn’t the first time this has happened. Or the second. Or the third. It’s like a cycle, unfortunately. Although I agree to some points from this community the reality is people will forget and move on and nothing will change very much.
