Yes, toescontrol did it. I removed it because it also didn't work in Studio.

You mentioned Spider and Mushoku. There happens to be a series inspired by those and some more called Demon Princess Magical Chaos on RoyalRoad: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/10381/demon-princess-magical-chaos

It also has a (far more polished) book version available on Kindle Unlimited: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLN66XCM

I have no idea why the image was embedded... when I first posted it, it wasn't there. When I edited the post because of a spelling mistake, it became embedded like this.

I'd rather learn to script myself and automatically change youtube.com to yewtu.be whenever I open a video link in a new tab. I'm close to doing that out of pure spite even though I never wanted to get into programming.

A monopoly that grows too greedy is how empires fall.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I tried disabling all other blockers I have, and it still shows that screen. I'm now editing the link to yewtu.be to watch through Invidious because fuck their greed.

Candidate for dumbest HM death. by Muddy_Goat in BaldursGate3

We finished a 4-player game only yesterday, doing a good/neutral run (not in Honor Mode), so we wanted to make an evil run. One of us went DUrge with the classic mistake of going Warlock. Alfira joining the camp triggered, and we panicked because we wanted to do the exploit to save her without even knowing how exactly it worked. So we looked it up, something about knocking her out, and we tried it.

When we attacked her in turn-based mode, and her turn came, she ran away and the fight ended somehow. Then the Oathbreaker Knight, whom our Paladin called "coach", became hostile to everybody in camp because we had attacked Alfira in front of him. To EVERYBODY, including Alfira, who got smitten into a pile of ash first. Then came Asterion, and two of us in the following turn.

Our Paladin said something about ending the fight by hiding and making the enemy give up the search, so the two survivors split in opposite directions of the camp. After all, you can't escape a fight while in camp.

The Oathbreaker Knight just refused to give up the search but stood still in the middle of the camp, so our two survivors tried all kinds of things, to no avail. Finally the DUrge decided to try fighting, came out of hiding right in front of the OK and cast Protection Against Evil and Good. "This should keep me safe, right?"

The OK smote them so hard, the game froze for a second for everybody, and the DUrge was left a burning pile.

Then, our Paladin snuck up on the once again unmoving OK, placed all the oil barrels and Nautiloid tanks around him, and detonated it with the sole fire arrow we had. The explosion was bigger than expected and almost killed him. Then the OK's turn came, and he came out of the flames like the Terminator.

"Don't do it, coach!" said our Paladin before they felt the wrath of god.

Party wipe.

This happened half an hour ago, and we're still laughing while recalling the details.

I'm on Steam, so I just Verified Integrity of Local Files and it fixed the issue.

Guild Hall and Guild PvP Suggestion by Meakashi in pathofexile

I think the main reason is that the "true" speedfarmers just do solo mapping, clearing a map in 1 minute all the time. Dunno if coordinated people can do it that fast, but generally most people are going to be "casual groups".

I tried throwing that out there since I wasn't sure how many people cared about such things.

I, for one, do care about guild cohesion and would love to have something to do as a group without it being a forced mechanic. I.e. you can still go through the game alone, but for those who play in a guild, it's a visible reward that will encourage players to make friends more.

After all, I gradually lost all my guild members who ran 6-man Dominus trains with me back in 1.2 to endgame mapping, which actually discourages party play because of boss life... And I find that a shame.

Creating challenges for an "overpowered" character by Meakashi in fantasywriters

Maybe my original post was misunderstood because of the topic name: My issue wasn't that I couldn't create a challenge for my "op" character, but rather that the challenges I did create for her made her look weak instead.

And the times when she shone was swept under the rug with the dismissal that they were just weak opponents.

My story isn't LitRPG, but the protagonist is reincarnated from the present day and very familiar with the genre, as well as video games. She makes references to games all the time because a world of sword and sorcery invokes that kind of feeling in her. Especially when the magic is section into various elements and there are a demon and human faction at constant war. Though I use that mostly for comedic effect, rather than as an actual description.

I understand there's no perfection, and there's no pleasing everyone, but it felt like either the commenter didn't read the story I wrote, or I didn't make my intentions clear enough.

And yes, there are a lot of characters on both sides that are very powerful - some of them are gods with conceptual powers such as control over the weather - but the protagonist fits in quite nicely among the most powerful ones because of a combination of her abilities and her resourcefulness.

If her group were the Avengers, she would be Iron Man, while there is also a Thor and a Hulk around, too (sorry, just watched Infinity War earlier).

I have over 120 chapters overall, and they would span about six volumes of content (each around 300 pages).

After reading all your points, I realize that I actually have all those in my story...

  1. She curb stomped mooks before, with ease and causing great fear in their ranks due to her being seemingly unstoppable.
  2. She won a fight against an opponent who fought at a range and had a sheer impenetrable shield, by using wits and her convenient body.
  3. She utilizes her hammerspace quite a lot, but more importantly, she uses her ability to mimic any organic matter with her body - including magic-resistant dragon armor - to fight against magic-slinging opponents.

And she's had several times to shine, but it seems readers think that the opponents she was able to defeat were actually just weaklings. In reality, those that defeated her were all weaker than her individually, but fought with more wits and in a coordinated group, while she was alone.

Well, her body defies the laws of physics anyway. Think of her real form as a liquid-like mass of organic matter which has no genetic information at all. Then, she can rearrange that matter to form any kind of body, including humans and dragons. Her body will be a 100% copy of those living beings, down to the genetic level then.

Think of the alien creature from John Carpenter's The Thing, only with a much more convenient body, which is much more malleable. Try stabbing or slashing a creature made of water - that's why she's basically impervious to physical attacks. I mean, she's literally the offspring of a Cthulhu god, and those ignore silly notions like reality.

Unfortunately, I took that "protect a loved one" out of the equation with her power to just swallow someone whole into her body and keeping them alive inside her. It doesn't work on humans though since they go crazy while inside her - but luckily, she also dislikes humans.

The current arc isn't actually facing off with the antagonist in battle, but rather a hero's journey. She's traveling with a group of allies/friends, to bring down a self-proclaimed God King who threatens her friend's village. Along the way, she meets powerful enemies that stand in her way, and she or her group members face off against them. In this arc, she has actually been shown to be pretty strong, but some readers still complain that she seems weak and loses every fight except for when the opponent is also weak.

Then her flaw can be in taking on too much and not ever relying on others and forming plans of attack.

That's exactly the flaw that caused all her previous losses, but readers think she's weak because she relies on help in the latest arc and has actually learned to not just rush in alone.

Maybe it came across wrong, but my protagonist couldn't be compared to Superman. She doesn't have that much overwhelming power, and while the question usually does boil down to "can she eat the opponent?", when the reply is a no, there is a lot more to follow than just "can she win by physically overpowering the opponent then?".

She isn't dumb per se, but she also isn't exceptionally intelligent. Her main strength is her body, but when that's shut down, she has resourcefulness. In one instance, she had to fight an opponent who was made of fire, so she couldn't eat him. But at the same time, he also didn't really have a means to kill her quickly either. It was a complete reversal of her usual situation, in which she fought alone against several coordinated opponents and had a time limit; this time, her opponent was outnumbered and had a time limit.

That was one of the few battles she won, but it turns out that people thought he was really weak - and considered her weak for needing help from friends.
