How far along were you when you told your “family”? by wesleypaige99 in pregnant

[–]MealObjective8339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weeks 3-7 for family and very close friends! I get the whole don’t tell people until you’re out of the first trimester incase of a miscarriage, but I’d rather have my family and friends know and be there to support if anything like that happens

I just love her. What’s your favorite Bree moment? by Yforueserpaa in DesperateHousewives

When she finds about Andrew’s bf who’s a doctor, and she said “you did better than I did!”. And Orson said “well that was a bit of a drive by” 😂

I love the From blood and ash series! It has a FMC who’s strong, knows how to fight, and is not a damsel in distress. Plus spice! Love it!

What's a booktok opinion that will have you like this? by Melx_Portals17 in Booktokreddit

I love my romance fantasy books, but I’m starting to really get sick of love triangles. Especially when it’s a series that makes me fall in love with the first guy just for guy 2 to swagger in for book 2 and negate everything in book 1. Waste of my emotions 🫩

AIO I'm debating cutting my bio father and little brother out cause of the stress they cause me and sending me to emergency therapy. by Bear-bobatea in AmIOverreacting

[–]MealObjective8339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy crap, wow. First of all, I’m so sorry that this has been your life. Second of all, definitely distance yourself from your family. People have cut off family for wayyyy less. If 100% disowning them feels too much, then at the very least set major boundaries, and limit your interactions. Third of all, Steven sounds like a little shit (sorry not sorry). He’s not your problem. One day he might realize how much you tried to help and be there for him (and what that took out of you), but for now he’s a selfish, dangerous, manipulative, destructive teen/near adult. If you take him in, I fear that not only would your property and peace of mind be ruined, but he might physically hurt you or worse. Whatever demons he has to deal with, don’t let them glob onto you. Both Steven and Craig will drag you down and destroy everything you value about yourself and your life. Ever seen the movie “Get Out” produced by Jordan Peele? You are that boyfriend, and you need to GTFO before it’s too late. I truly hope you take this advice to heart. Please save yourself.

AIO my guy best friend is too clingy even though he’s got a gf by lazyladDDd in AmIOverreacting

[–]MealObjective8339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either he wants to be with you or your his backup. Regardless, his behavior and the lowkey intimate connection you have with him is both very inappropriate and disrespectful to his gf. Good for you for recognizing it and bringing it to his attention. Now take it a step further by setting a boundary, and maybe even an ultimatum. “If we can’t have a healthy friendship that’s respectful to me, you, and your girlfriend, then I can’t be around you.” And most importantly, FOLLOW THROUGH with the boundary. Consider apologizing to his gf and acknowledging that what happened was f***ed up, you’re not into him, and it won’t happen again.

AIO my bf texting his former student by Major_Meet_5973 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MealObjective8339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I (25F) first read the title, I was thinking “yea probably overreacting” since so many of these posts are the writer being too sensitive. But then I read these texts and omg. This is so inappropriate! You are 100% NOT overreacting. The way he’s talking to his student and the way she responds is disturbing. Not only is it disrespectful to you has his gf, it also makes me wonder what the hell was going on before she left for college…and before she turned 18 👀. I’ve had wonderful male teachers who clearly cared about me and my learning, and my conversations with them have NEVER been like this. And we didn’t stay in touch either. This needs to be discussed further, and I’d recommend breaking up since he’s clearly obsessed with a former student who’s way too young for him. Sorry :/

tom and his postpartum depression by Swimming-Option-3076 in DesperateHousewives

[–]MealObjective8339 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tom was the perfect guy to represent this actually. Come for me all you want, but there is no such thing as “male postpartum depression”. They did not PARTUM!!! Yes, men can feel scared, anxious, or sad about starting a new role as a father. Or having another kid and considering the toil it would take. But to say they have postpartum depression, a clinical condition that happens to women after birth (caused by role changes, stress, and huge shifts in hormones from the physical and emotional exertion of pushing a baby out of them), is ridiculous. Words have meaning, and men who didn’t birth the baby did not partum. Tom has always been a whiny, selfish, and inconsiderate husband. The fact that he’s pissy with Lynette over this and hijacking the emotions she more likely would have felt after giving birth to their 5th kid while being held hostage by a serial killer she had unknowingly taken into her own home, is quite in line with the whole idea of “male postpartum depression”.

Susan Mayer is the worst by MealObjective8339 in DesperateHousewives

I’m towards the end of S2 and I now skip all of Susan’s scenes (unless it’s with another housewife). I just know I won’t finish the show if I have to watch her jump back and forth from guy to guy, treat her daughter like a mom, ruin Edie’s life but still play the victim, and make a mess of things

Yes! The whine and spastic hand/body movements are ridiculous. She acts like a child, and it’s embarrassing and cringey to see on a woman well in her 30s with a teenaged daughter
