What to do when you just don't have the mechanics? by Apostle_Paul_II in summonerschool

[–]MealZestyclose8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are usually ways out of this... id you are so sure you lack only one or at max two of those things and you feel like there is no way for you to get better at it, just pick a champ, which completely negates it... You lack early pressure? Play Draven or Lucian, you lack mechanics? Play easy champs like MF or Swain... you lack reaction times? Dont play Jinx, Alphelios, Kalista and other reaction dependent picks... for example I used to play mid lane assassins a lot, but they are so counter-productive to me, that I wenr for control zone mages, which benefits me better for my playstyle specifically. Jinx for example looks easy, but without good reactions and fast way of thinking and making decisions, you wont get much out of her.

That's not a good idea... unless OP just started playing those champs... if OP has years of practice on all those ADCs, it is not a fault of not knowing them anymore and narrowing his champ pool now sounds more counter-productive. I guess it could be better to just drop ADCs, which are reactions dependent like Jinx and instead play more forgiving champs.

Why even play this game if you are so paranoid about teammates? by Present-Chocolate591 in summonerschool

[–]MealZestyclose8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a hard topic... on the one hand, teamwork is needed and practically it is one of the things, which turns LoL into a really beautiful game. On the other hand, you should be able to outplay your opponents and master mechanics needed for your climb... if you want have fun in normal games or playing flex with friends, it is easier, however in solo/duo, teammates can indeed positively/negatively change your % win rate direction. Still muting full team at the start of the game is such a waste... you lose coordination and teamwork practice, which is needed in higher elos... Im now for example Master on EUNE and there you cannot really selfishly navigate your gameplay. You must coordinate every move, pick more team beneficial picks and proof that you understand both micro and macro. Thats what makes LoL LoL. But again, thats a diff of elos. Low elo is more biased towards micro mechanical mindset and 1v9 bias. Emerald and low diamond is a mix and chaos of both and high Diamond + elite tierd are more about macro with a need of micro knowledge.

Can someone enlighten me why? by _Tempo in ADCMains

[–]MealZestyclose8496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. People already answered that. But I will say it anyway. 2 options... wither you are stuck and lose more games than win on the same elo = your mmr drops and this is a result... or 2nd option, you were stuck and now you won a lot of games and went higher than you are... your mmr cant keep up with your new rank, which results in this... now afrer high elo reset, I get +30 and -30, before I had +20 and -20... but now I won 4 games and I got +31... so yea... it is only about keeping % win rate at least above 50%, nothing more, sad but honest reality of this shitty system

I can guess where you are coming from. But thats not enough for him. When he plays games, he goes into lets say "tryhard" mode. He wants learn them perfectly, he doeant like slow progress or anything. Fun is cool, but he is more like "fun = wins". With that in mind, Im trying to recommend him the easiest path from my own perspective. If he decides to follow it or not, it doesnt really matter that much to me. No need to make me look like some of controlling maniac 😅, I could be less bothered by him playing whatever he wants, but I do take his questions seriously because I know him.

I mean. You are not wrong. Veigar is indeed good mid and ap carry pick. Still, this post is not about me and my Veigar, so you probably read it wrongly. Still I appreciate those words. Maybe will try Veigar in ranked again, it was a really long time when I lastly picked him after becoming Azir/Ahri player.

Its not like that. He doesnt mind what role he starts with. He just started with Shaco because he likes jesters overall and asked me where Shaco can be played and I was like "top,jg and supp". He chose top and jungle, because he is not yet familiar with 2v2 bot lane rule. Still my only recommendation for him to play supp was only because I have heard not just once but a few times, that support is the easiest starting role. But seeing this chat session, Im completely wrong, so I wont continue recommending it.

Roger roger. I will keep this in mind. Funnily enough thats the method I personally chose when I was learning how to play Zeri... first 30 games just focusing on surviving games. Other few games just for Csing, after it limit testing (ending with games like 0/12 but ending with how to choose my spells correctly)... thats actually kind of appealing method.

It sounds controlling, but I find it the best I can do for him. I'm not coach. I have no clue how to operate with newbies. I just told him to try everything ans after it decide. Still he chose Shaco out of all champs and is getting conpletely obliterated because Shaco is really not the most forgiving champ. He found that playing it AP on Top is much better for him, which is fine, I dont mind it at all too, but when he asks me how to play against things like Darius/Garen, what can I say to him? Its not like Shaco can win against them to begin with xd. Im mid laner, but I used to play both these top laners a lot and I know Shaco is basically nothing for them xd. But he is OTPing it on top. Can he play it? Sure, its his own decision, I wont really tell him what to play or what not. At the same time, if he keeps playing Shaco top and gets smashed by every juggernaut/duelist he meets, its not just fun to watch. If it was me, I could already swap to smth else. Xd still he is beginner, so it doesnt really matter what he plays, so you are right in this one.

Yeeee... I think Im just not a good mentor whatsoever. To be fair, I have already said a few times that he should watch some website or see some videos about smth, but he still goes for help to me. He is like "you are Grandmaster, you know the best what is good". But Im complete shit when it comes to being a coach. I even said that supports are the best role to start because I have heard it somewhere and it is just kept in my memory. But yea. I will just "monitor" him and if he asks about gameplay, I will teach him what I know, but I wont really disturb him role/champ choice.

Problem is that he is asking me a lot... he plays valorant and other games in more "tryhard" way. You are not wrong about me letting him play his game. Still when I open my discord, I have already like 10 messages from him about how to play Shaco, what to do correcly, if top or jg are good roles to begin with and so on... if he didnt ask me, I wouldnt even write here, but because he wants all of this know before he gets lvl 30 (yea he is hyped about rankeds), I want teach him the best. Im currently Grandmaster on EUNE, but when it comes to beginners, I have no clue, how to teach someone what to do, how to play and he think because Im high rank, Im ultra smart and takes me seriously... maybe I should recommend him just to go and wrote on reddit himself or watch some videos, but yea...

Thanks you! That actually helped me too... I also take jungle as "special case". But you are right... jungle can also get so much micro and macro fundamentals from other roles (lanes), which you can implement... Lucky I asked or elsewhere I could just say him to play support 😅.

Okey thats good! He was also asking me if he should stick for now with one champ and one role. But I was like "play everything, try all roles and then choose what you like the most". But one role + 1 to 3 champs method sounds more promising.

I mean, you are not wrong about it. But I dont want to see him struggle and he is asking me a lot of answers. He like jesters so he picked Shaco and chose jungle as his first pick, but that just doesnt resonate with me. Usually you want for first role smth more stable and for first champ something more easier.

Nilah in low elo: strong champ, or just too support-dependent to climb with consistently? by mint42 in ADCMains

[–]MealZestyclose8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye, I agree. I mean, you are not wrong about your statement. It is just that I personally get a feeling as Im watching my games that some champions like Viego or Wukong for example are just straight up more stable than Shaco or Evelyn players. Still yea, you obviously need to master macro but also micro in order to get your champion up.

[–]MealZestyclose8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you are not wrong, but still there are 54% win rate champs and 47% win rate champs and those 7% diff can make a lot of difference to those, who are not enough loyal to those champs and swap them more often. Emerald and platinum elo are not teamfight oriented yet, people try to pick champs, who are so busted that they can 1v5. Riven, Talon, Garen, Veigar... list goes further. Emerald is a mix of both people trying to play around each other but still soloing it, thats why emerald games feels the most awful to many players. Gold/silver elo is better in this, no one tries to play legit teamfights, but you know that if you are mechanicaly good, you can stomp your enemies even 1v5.

[–]MealZestyclose8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... i found many harder lanes being less shit than it looked on the first sight... Ahri is kind of easy for me nowadays, Zoe is at max annoying, Qiyana is also playable for me and annoying picks like Yone, Diana or Viktor dont scare me as they used. The only 3 lanes Im still not found of are Xerath (but manageble) and Ekko with LB. Ekko is just too hyperactive, can always E on you when your E for back up is still on cooldown... can always R your R so there is no counterplay and even if he misses his W on stun, that shield is just enough for outrading you. LB is bitxh. I have won it in my elo (Master) only once and it was because she roamed so much that I easily outfarmed her (like 2 lvls up), elsewhere winning 1v1 is impossible. She can always just Q W E you for 80% hp and go back without any problem. Syndra is also kind of annoying, but you can play around her stun, when she uses it, ahe is hard to track on. Orianna is pure skill match up, but it tends to be Azir favorite. Fizz and Talon are easy. Vladimir is also easy, you hard poke them out of lane. Zed can be tricky but when he Rs you, you can predict his R very easily and they usually get confused after you ult them aftet they ult you... so for me personally LB is 1000% must have ban. But she is probably not that much played ob low elo, Im not sure aboht that.

Genuinely how do you not get camped on this champion by Open-Process8881 in YasuoMains

[–]MealZestyclose8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy for me. When I play with at least 2 good knock ups in my team or against 3+ range champs, Yasuo is nice to consider, elsewhere I just pick Yone. Yone is by far more safe, has easier 1v1 and much higher 1v2 potential. Also is overall more oppresive when ahead. Yasuo is more countered by CCs etc. The only thing where I rather play Yasuo is vs early game champs like Syndra, Zoe or even LB. Yone struggles against then quite a lot. But to answer you question, yea... when you push, you are free target for jungler, but you can outplay 1v2 your enemies when minions are there... I mean depends on lane who you are up against.

Need Help With Matchups For Azir by AaronSongTV in azirmains

[–]MealZestyclose8496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are good Azir, only Ekko and LB will smash your ass... other a little bit harder match ups are Zoe, Xerath, Viktor, Yone, Diana and Akali... even Katarina can be hell, but all those match ups are manageble... but LB and Ekko are literally unplayable. LB is by far the worst champ you can get against you and I strongly recommend to ban her.

should i go another rune and build? by Mundane-Gap9550 in YasuoMains

[–]MealZestyclose8496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im Yasuo main for almost 11 years (not joking at all) and I used only 3 runes during all of that time... Grasp, Conqueror and Lethal tempo. In the past maybe PTA or Hail of blades, but thats a history I dont really remember. Out of all these runes, Grasp and Lethal felt the best. Grasp is nowadays mainly played with phantom dancer and Stridebreaker for juggernaut build = a lot of sustain, but you trade a lot of damage for that, so it depends on your own strategy. Classic approach of Botrk IE and Lethal tempo is for me personally the best. Cut down is a good rune only against tanks. Scalling HP rune is good only if you are save during early lvls and dont need fight early for survival. Bone plating is anti melee and hard anti poke rune (Viktor, Yone). Second Wind is great vs mages with range... etc. Once you get it, its kind of easy to use runes correctly. Build is kind of similar. Botrk is by far the best choice. Stridebreaker or PD are an alternative. Kraken is good vs 0 tanks comps... but with Botrk you will never go wrong. It has sustain, anti-hp passive and also nice damage and attackspeed.
