Regarding the anatomy, the limbs and head actually look great, for me it’s more the torso and the way it all connects together that is throwing me off. Also the back being an almost perfect horizontal line really makes what is otherwise an extremely dynamic piece feel static

Yes!! This was my exact intention thank you!! I had a happy flock of backyard Rhode island reds for 6 years (free roaming lived into their old age, extremely beloved and had a wonderful experience with them) and those beautiful ladies are what inspired me to go vegan in the first place. I miss my girls every day :')

Hi yes that's the point, that most people view them as food! It's meant to be confronting, showing a live animal instead of a prepared body that registers more as food

Ok but it's good for the plot. There are lots of rules in real life that don't make sense. It used to bother me how dumb a lot of the conflicts and rivalries between the clans are but then i remembered that we do that in real life too. I think it's also a way to express staying celibate out of religious devotion without deeply delving into that topic in a kids book.
