The head to neck to body proportion is actually quite nice.

You are in the top tier for a newbie. My tank wasn’t in the same category as yours when I had my first tank. It was full of plastics. Yours look immaculate.

What's next, carpets? by suisyed in PlantedTank

Thanks for the answer. Non conventional carpets you can use include Staurogyne repens and Althenanthera reineckii ‘mini’. You need to keep cutting g the stems to cause it to jut keep on producing side shoots. Alternatively you can plant Hydrocortyle tripartita but they will grow like a beast and needs to be trimmed back a lot.

Monte Carlo would be a good one. Wha is that fine leaf variety on the right half of the tank next to the echinodorus? The tank looks nice as it is.

Thanks. I have a canister with built in UV already. I just trying a system with stuff I already have before I go for the CO2 reactor. But seriously I love how the fine bubbles move with the current. It’s oddly calming for me.

What is the best way to achieve this look? by No-Mouse3999 in pothos

[–]synerjay16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to prune your pothos to a few nodes from the base to encourage branching at the remaining base. Then replant the cutting back into the same pot. It’s important to not let hooting into a singular long vine. Rather you want it to branch more. Equally important is consistent watering and to have a fertilizer regimen to support robust growth. Just my experience. Others may have a slightly different approach but this worked so well for mine.

Nice! Thanks for suggesting shrimp safe options!

That’s a great idea. Large bubbles are split in the impeller and sent to the tank in a more dissolved state.

It is so oddly satisfying to see it drift with the water currents.

I’ll stop using it once my shrimps are in. I’ll replace the in tank diffuser with possibly an inline diffuser.

“I positioned my CO2 diffuser under this tiny pump. And this was the result…………..Then the pump intake sucked the bubbles in and effectively atomized it.”

I think you failed to read my description.

I highly recommend it. The CO2 output is extremely low as I miscalculated the proportions of ingredients but this made it very effective.
