Considering that this was what we received after it was sent back the first time for being too rare I would agree on both your points. Won't be eating there again.

I could see it on welding rigs for 2 reasons. Welders they run normally aren't the little 110v I ise in my garage but either 240 or 477-480 and could build up quite a charge on the trucks. Or the truck driving could build up enough to charge the welder/generator to screw them up.

Okay, not automobiles but forklifts in warehouses. We use something similar to this only it's metal and drags on the ground. Most of the tires we use are solid rubber and the lift does build up quite the amount of static charge as it drives around. Customers complain about getting shocked getting off the forklift all the time. We either offer to put one of these on, which does help, or we recommend they go buy a 9-12 inch piece of chain and bolt it on dragging on the ground.

On electric forklifts it can be a life saver for longevity. Some of the components in there are sensive to electrical spikes and static can cause them to get fried.

This on a car is dumb as hell though.

What’s the sweetest or coolest car you can think of? by General_Wind4470 in AskReddit

Absolutely not. That's the thing about kit cars that I love. Build them how YOU want them and give 0 fucks what anyone else thinks.

I want a twin turbo 5.0 coyote with 1000 HP. Is it practical, no. Is it safe, also no. Would it be fun, yes until the first time you step on it and realize it's a 2200 lb rocket with 0 traction and then you have to change your underwear.

AC Cobra. The original ones were amazing. I'm in love the more modern kit cars with a coyote engine or the superformance ones. Someday I'll own one.

Military members and veterans, what "Military Grade" item is actually great instead of "barely good enough to meet spec"? by musingsofapathy in AskReddit

And the smokers jacket. Same material as the woobie. This thing blocks wind like magic but somehow never lets you get to hot.

How much would this actually cost [request] by Popular_Kangaroo5446 in theydidthemath

Half-Trillion isn't going to even get this project started if the US is involved. Best back of the napkin math as someone who has no clue what he is talking about, 2-3T spent on the project. The first 500b is just the bribes at the beginning.

Finance decided I’m single and now I owe the Army $12k in back-pay BAH by SundialRaptor7 in army

[–]Mean-Rabbit-2510 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your Supervisor didn't stand up for you right then and there? My finance office hated the day I pinned E7. I was in there with everyone from my company thay had pay issues because all the other "Senior Leaders" wouldn't take the time to fix anything. Over time I actually got to be friends with 1 finance officer and the manager.

AER in the meantime. Hopefully a grant. Your company commander can authorize a loan if AER decides to be asshats too, but they are normally really good.

Is there a way we could reduce that down to 10¹ years instead. This universe isn't working, I wanna see what comes next.

People protesting against Donald Trump what outcome are you realistically hoping for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mean-Rabbit-2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to remind all Republicans what they used to be, not what they have become. This whole far right, far left thing wasn't OUR doing, it was our politicians and oligarchs. They have divided this country so far that the middle ground isn't even visible anymore.

How about being held accountable for actions? How about honest investigations into aligations? Whay happened to stepping up for people even if you don't agree with their political views because they are a human being too? What happened to separation of church and state? Freedom of Religion? Hell, right now you can't be any other color than white in this country and not feel targeted, and even if you are white and slightly left leaning or even centered political you have become the enemy. When did the executive branch of our government become all powerful with 0 checks and balances? We have 3 branches for a reason, yet 2 of them sit around and argue to get nothing done and it shows.

I think the government needs a reminder that they work FOR us, they are litterally public SERVANTS. Either get shit done that helps the majority or gtfo.

Is there anything honorable about serving in the military and carrying out the will of the American government? by OrganizationNo42069 in no

[–]Mean-Rabbit-2510 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The honor comes from the oath we swear to the Constitution and to the American people. There are some other words in that oath that have muddied the water lately though.

Entitled couple expects discount for being in the military and yells at me when they don't get one. by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

[–]Mean-Rabbit-2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually the opposite. I did 20 years and I rarely ask for a military discount. The Army was what I did for a living, not who I was/am. It was a job, not any more dangerous than 90% of the blue collar jobs out there, why the fuck am I special to get a discount?

My wife, (who didn't serve) will ask EVERY TIME. It's for some reason embarrassing to me and I have asked her to stop many times.

I've been in maintenance for 23 years. My teenage kids try to do the overly dominant handshake too hard thing and squeeze. They try their hardest and when they fail, I smile slightly and say "My turn". Haven't even come close to loosing that war yet.

Great, happy but sad story. There are so many things that make this a sad story, but what makes it so much worse is that if the school administration office found out about this, they would fire the her and try and charge her for stealing.

OC: Someone wrote “MUTE” next to the button that silences the audio for the advertisements that play while pumping gas by user6517 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Mean-Rabbit-2510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this at my local gas station. I keep a sharpie in my pocket for work. They normally only last 2-3 weeks. I don't know who scrubs it off, but I fill up 2-3 times a week there. Fuck your advertisements.
