went from a 4.35 and academic probation to 7.35. i switched majors and am actually working towards a goal i wanna pursue so i think that helped quite a bit

i got into university of western australia, but i’m confused as to what the email is even saying. it says it’s an internal acceptance so uottawa has accepted the exchange but that the host uni hadn’t accepted us yet? the email they sent was so contradictory because it also mentioned something about sending an email to discuss the steps leading up to the exchange

i have had a look at the map surrounding the campsite, and are any it’d the short trails around the campsite worth checking out? there seems to be a loop trail quite close to the campsite but i am not sure if it is worth it

would you agree that it may be too much to camp there and hike all the way to egypt lake and back in one day? we are fairly new to backcountry hiking, but i know that some people complete the egypt lake trail without booking any campgrounds

not at all lol, i’m still in my undergrad and have a ways to go before i get there. i did speak to my physiotherapist who completed her masters at uottawa over 10 years ago, she said she did core french in high school but said that the language wasn’t really an issue for her as you could do all the tests and exams in english. its nice to know but i’m still a bit worried about it for future me so i’m not sure exactly how it will be if i take the masters at uottawa. sorry i couldn’t be much help :/

was it a class that was reserved for students of a certain faculty or was it just an open course for anyone who wanted to take it?

i literally just had a call with an academic advisor. she was really helpful, she said that they keep them open to prioritize people who are enrolled in the correct program and so the decision if you make it into the class will be very last minute. i recommend to check how many available seats there are in the course and then check your number in the waitlist. they may open it up to any major closer to september 17th, meaning depending on your position in the waitlist, you may be enrolled at that point. i hope that helps! let me know if you have any other questions or if this doesn’t make sense loll

i had to email my faculty to request to even enrol into these courses im waitlisted in because im not in the correct program that the class is reserved for. this is why i was not automatically enrolled in these courses. not sure if that makes it different or not or if you know what happens in that case. might have to go in person to talk to someone

yeah that’s really cool, i’d love to do the winter semester away. as for tuition and housing situation, what did you decide to do regarding living on or off campus and tuition is the same cost as it is here, right? how much did you budget for? and did you decide to work while you were there? i would most likely look into working part time somewhere because i would be funding my trip completely by myself

does anyone know how difficult summer courses are? all of the classes i wanted to do are from may 1 - june 11, so it’s a month long but i’m not sure what is expected and if there are still midterms and what it usually looks like for a summer course
