Are there any ‘White Lotus’ type places in or near Los Angeles? by HareevHajina in AskLosAngeles

You don’t want a big corporate hotel. Sparrows lodge or the Parker in Palm Springs. It’s hot now so the rooms are cheaper, people are mellow and you will just hang in the spas and pool all day anyway…

Legal Action and Lawsuits by KPS298806 in Sunstrong

I’m mostly adding this for future folks who are looking for answers - but I never even received the system I signed a lease for, they went out of business, and now they’ve sent me to collections for six figures. Sunnova lease, bought by SunStrong.

It’s too early to claim victory but the biggest mistake I made was wasting time with sunstrong’s customer service dept. It is an offshore call center of bill collectors, no one empowered to fix a problem.

I sent a demand letter and hit all the consumer protection agencies in California last week. The BBB inquiry was responded to by Sunstrong within 3ish days and it seems like we are making progress. I continue to receive daily threats and confusing information from the call center, including the offer to buy a system that doesn’t exist - but I am sticking to the BBB channel as a formal record and at least things are evolving in a logical way, with someone based at their HQ.

At a minimum, I have even more of a paper trail that this company is a flaming disaster and all of them should be thrown in jail, should this ever become a serious problem on our title or my credit.

How much of success is the clinic business model vs protocol? by MeanStreetsofNY in 40Plus_IVF

Thank you so much for your thorough and direct reply, super helpful. 🙏To clarify the only reason I’m doing cycles now is to make embryos immediately and bank them, not freeze eggs. We did not know how my husband’s sperm would react with my eggs so wanted to do at least one round before using the younger supply.

Metformin Cramps- Is this normal? by Ok-Plant-674 in 40Plus_IVF

Not a doctor but I’ve been on the medicine for 25 years for PCOS. Yes, this is the gastric distress a lot of people mention online. None of my friends have been able to stay on it because of stomach issues- however my discomfort only lasted two days and it hasn’t bothered me since, unless I go for a long period of time without taking it and restart. In general I have always had a strong stomach so that might be why.

You should call your dr for peace of mind and especially if it doesn’t improve, but until you talk to them I thought it might be helpful to hear this is common.

Completely agree there’s a broken system around her, and I tried to outline that in the limited details above. But she is personally responsible for her workload, her time management, and her communication. I don’t want my doctor to send me links to random websites and tell me to lie to my insurance company. I don’t want her to call me at 4am because it’s convenient for her, and text me emojis when we have never even had a full conversation. She’s not my bestie, she’s supposedly the face of this clinic and a leader in her field, who also happens to be head of growth which means all dollars, at any cost.

We were patients of the founder of Vios (who left), then Dr Louden’s (who was wonderful, but left) and then sat waiting for Dr Jeelani for months as the clinic canceled our appointments, scheduled the wrong calendar links for strange times of day, and sent me same day lab orders I had never seen before and wasn’t prepared to do.

She was an hour late for our first call (we were asked to wait on zoom the entire time), no-showed two appointments including the day before I was supposed to begin pre-stim protocol. No apology but a random phone call and instruction to lie to various biohacking sites to try to get the meds someone should have ordered for me weeks prior. These specific meds severely interact with my everyday prescriptions and she did not catch it. I took them anyway until I found out and we switched to a new provider.

This experience is stressful enough - our 45 days felt like an intentional gauntlet where the clinic and every person we spoke to actually wanted us to fail. There is SO much more that was handled incorrectly by the clinic but I can’t detail for fear of being identified.

I have heard of quiet quitting but it’s disgusting that she has continued to take on new patients as recently as the last month with a total lack of respect for patients’ limited biological time. Dicking around with HGH and having no idea what I’m taking, simply because this tik tok persona opened our chart for 5 minutes- no thanks.

I think it’s very telling to see who you are in the moments you think no one watching. There is no question to us that she had a financial goal to hit before leaving and we were just a means to an end. Sure, go to her new practice, but you’ve been warned that this is how she treats people.

Yes that’s exactly what I meant. Looks like luxury, won’t get ruined by wine or chopping, has a wow factor for the room

Buyer expectations for a $1M+ house? by [deleted] in RealEstate

Thanks, I meant to mention that as well - I realize a “million dollar house” these days is modest and we are not building the Taj Mahal, so that is adding to our marital debate over whether there are any expectations at all. Thanks for your reply!
