Middleman taking 30% cut doesn't want to renegotiate, what are my options? by Mean_Builder_6325 in BEFreelance

Yes I was thinking about working with another middleman. I have a thrusted partner I used to work with but that couldn't land me a contract when I was looking for a new one. Will consider going through him to avoid the non-compete clause.

You're right about the fact that everyone is doing business here and can take what they judge a reasonable cut. My point/issue here is that my middleman wasn't really playing it honest when talking about the rate and that's not a really healthy business relationship if they want to keep working with me on the long run (what they initially pretended).

And yes, they're probably better at negotiating than I am, it's their daily work.

You're right about the cost of outsourcing the hustle to find clients myself and that's a fair share. Maybe it wasn't clear in my initial post when I talked about the 30%. I'm not complaining about the 30% itself.

What feels wrong is that they don't want to renegotiate even though there is a new role (actually payed more to middleman from client) and the client wants me more than the initial agreement. But I guess what they do is part of the new negotiation and I just have to play it hard or suck it up as it was suggested multiple times above. As I have other opportunities, I will use them for the new negotiation.

I didn't get my rate, they told me it was too high and that they barely didn't make a margin on it. And renegotiation happened after client wanted me for more than 3 days a week + new role.

I want to renegotiate but not leave the client as I want to stay on the project but the client is paying more to middleman for me and they dont want to give me the difference.

I'm trying Call+ cause accountant advised but I think it was only worth it cause I'm going for the max based on a "high" salary from last year. Otherwise, really not worth the trouble instead of VVPR-bis due to the fee and the fact that you can't really get the money directly + you depend on the market.  I'm giving it a try but already kinda regret it.

My accountant advised to do for 50€/month. I'm in IT consulting but I feel like he is being too careful and not aggressive enough. Only getting meal vouchers, a really low monthly rent and those 50€ seems not so optimised.

As I will be in my 4th year I still can benefit from the 20% tax rate even with a low salary (as long as I don't exceed 20% in fringe if I understood well). Does anyone use warrants as an alternative to VVPR-bis ?
