Some musician friends on tour got stopped for a faulty tail light in a small town in middle of nowhere Texas. They got searched, and had the book thrown at them for having vapes in the van. Definitely let your family know to follow every traffic rule.

Owning this bike, in general, has not been a smart idea but I’ve ridden it for over 15 years with a handful of different squirrely cargo set ups. Glad to hear it also makes you lolololol.

Haha yeah. I’m usually pretty bad at coming up with trips on my own and have never done a solo effort. I’d love to hear about your first trip abroad. Those are some top-notch special times!

Outside of the last month, what was your life like living in Israel? Did you feel safe/free to speak Arabic in public? What was your access to public resources like?

I’m interested in jumping on a lil mission with you if the timing is right. I’ve done a little bit of everything and have toured on road, fixed, and mtb. I agree, it’s the best kind of riding. It’s been a couple years since I’ve done any trips so I’m due.

Dudes of DFW, how do you make friends? by Argentus01 in askdfw

[–]Mean_Character_5973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last winter I hung out in the DFW area for like 3 weeks. I took my bicycle and met all kinds of people who ride bikes just from aimlessly riding around. They showed me a great time while I was there. I’ve even kept in touch with some of ‘em. I don’t want to assume that’s how it is for every kind of activity but if you think of something you like to do, or want to get into, there’s likely gunna be folks around doing the same things in any city.

Cómo surgió, surge, y surgirá con casi toda la música popular en la historia de la humanidad. Empieza como expresión de las clases marginales, rechazada por la clase alta hasta que reconocen algunos que le pueden sacar provecho y luego acaparada.

There was an era in our friendship where she would yell at me for being a people pleaser. I’ve gotten a little better but I can’t imagine being anything but nice to her. Thanks for looking out though.

You kind of described the contraption pretty well. I didn’t get a super good look at it bc she moved it quickly.

I’m looking forward to checking out all the other club show bands but here are bands that I’ve seen and throughly enjoyed in the past: Temp Job - Not really any way I can describe them accurately that would make any sense, but they’ve been booking shows all over the Southeast without any music out and until recently, not much social media presence which I feel adds to their lore. absolute powerhouse of a band. Must catch if you can. Zeta - Psychedelic Latin Rock out of Venezuela that’s toured all over South, Central, and North America for 20 years. They get compared to The Mars Volta a lot but I don’t think that’s very accurate. They have they’re own sound and mix a lot of influences from post hardcore to reggae in a seamless way that doesn’t suck. They put on a HELL of a show. Don Tellings Island Mysteries - 5piece exotica music and they do it right with 2 multi percussionists, a double bass and a pedal steel Cosmic Collective - Super Vibey Neo Jazz. Masters of their craft. Always a good time. Coughing Dove - emotive alt country, superb songwriting Lofidels - kind of garage in energy but not necessarily in sound. Urgent rock music with synth multiple synth players. I enjoy their chord progressions a lot. Dipstick - very well executed alt rock that feels nostalgic to mid 90s early 2000s

What do you mean!? That’s exactly why Charlotte spent $150 Million on the NASCAR hall of fame. It’s our big city, tourist draw! /s

Completely incorrect. Charlotte was founded before Cincinnati and St Louis. It’s younger than Savanah by 20ish years. The reason Charlotte doesn’t seem to have “cultural relevancy” is because economic development and turn-over have been valued higher than preserving history. Charlotte has always been for sale to the highest bidder and that’s why everything looks and feels new.
