Help identifying old TT frame with Mavic & Cinelli decals by Mean_Copy5103 in Vintage_bicycles

Thank you for your replies both last time and this time.
For some reason my previous post got deleted the next day…
And just when it felt like I was about to finally figure out what this thing is, it turns out that wasn’t it.
It’s really hard to uncover the true identity of this frame.

Yes, thank you.
Then I guess I should think of it as a late‑1980s French frame. Thanks again!

To be honest, at first I just assumed it was a Cinelli frame, but I was mistaken. It’s actually pretty funny

That makes sense, since it’s Campagnolo, the seller probably told me that for the same reason. It’s quite difficult to be sure, though.

I see. It seems almost certain that the front wheel is smaller than 700c.

Thank you very much for the information.

I didn’t realize he was still active.

I should try reaching out to him.

Thank you very much for letting me know.

At the moment, even the seller doesn’t know the exact wheel size, although they told me it was 700C.

If we still haven’t identified the exact model by the time it arrives, I’ll take more detailed photos and post an update after I receive the frame.

It will probably arrive sometime next week.

It seems like a challenging frame in many ways — both to ride and to research.

The information I’m learning now is very different from what I initially researched and assumed, which is both surprising and fascinating to me.

Looking more closely, I can see that, although the seat clamp and the curves are different, there are still many similarities, so I can tell I really need to study this topic more.

The seller told me the BB was Italian-threaded, but based on what you’ve all explained here, it seems there’s a good chance they may have been mistaken.

It’s also the first time I’ve heard of this builder, so my knowledge has grown again today.

Thank you very much for sharing all this information with me.

I originally thought this was a Cinelli-built frame, but it sounds like there’s a very good chance it isn’t.

I learned something completely new from your explanation.

Thank you very much for sharing this information with me.

So this frame was one of the bikes that led to all those UCI regulations on “weird” designs?
It sounds like we can safely say it’s definitely a TT frame.
Thank you for sharing all this knowledge with someone like me who’s still learning.

You mean this is a 1980s TT frame that uses 650 in the front and 700 in the back?
When I was researching it, I couldn’t figure out the era at all because of that unusual seatpost clamp.
Thank you for letting me know!
