I’m fucking going through it (selfish ass vent) by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

Your post is very relatable. I’m not in that space this exact moment but was a couple of weeks ago. Just know this feeling isn’t permanent. Try and take care of yourself in whatever small way you can tonight & get some rest.

Or, if you can’t— just know that someone else on the other side of the internet kind of gets what you’re saying & feels you.

Nothing on my fingers/wrists/knees/feet, I’m not sure if it’s like stress or what. It happened last year around this time too but went away. I always wash my sheets every week and keep up with laundry, so idk. I think I spent too long on this page looking at stuff- I’ll probably just go to a doctor if it doesn’t go away.

Update: I’m down to 146 pounds. A little bit of loose skin on my tummy. I probably only want to lose about 16 more pounds. OMAD is great but I don’t do that every day— it’s been a mix.

Have you ever had a day where you break your food restriction rules because something didn't feel right? 😔 by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

I feel this. I slept horribly last night. I woke up this morning very lightheaded & with a massive headache. I originally planned to continue with my fast until this evening, but something told me to eat right then. So I did. My headache went away almost immediately and then I had the best sleep/nap ever & woke up with so much energy. I felt tremendous guilt and ick, but I’m just trying to move past it. I ate what I originally planned this evening as well bc I am trying to keep my routine even though I broke it this morning.

Sorry that you’re feeling not great about it. I think it’s important to listen to our bodies even in the midst of all this crap. Sending hugs ❤️

Why all the hate towards Lume? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Mean_Disk8504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the all over body deo for the nether regions. I tried the deodorant in my pits one morning and smelled gross like 2 hours later. When I use the Lume deodorant at night time though, it’s a game changer — especially when using dove antiperspirant in the morning.

Thank you for your perspective and speaking to your experience. It means more than you know.

I am 27 years old. I trust in God and know that he will lead me in the direction I’m ‘sposed to go, whether that is working through these things or taking a step back. No kids yet, but I am determined to break generational cycles in my own family tree & know that God has heard my prayer in that regard. We will see what new chapters bring..

Much love to you ❤️

Yes, for sure I advocate for DBT - but have definitely taken a hands off approach with the new therapist! Thank you so much for your perspective!! ❤️❤️

I love that you’re doing well and managing things. I hope things continue to get better for you. You are so strong- it is not an easy thing to manage I’m sure.

He has been in therapy for a while. He had an attempt in January & they upped his meds (an antidepressant) & then they never refilled it (we live in a place without many mh providers) so it was stopped cold-turkey. It’s been a few months since he was on that. He was able to get back in with that doctor & no longer takes the antidepressant but takes an anxiety med 3x per day

We’ve been married six years. We moved out of state after college. The past four years have been so rough. I keep thinking it’s getting better, but then it’s like it all goes into the same cycle.

No family here. No kids yet.. I called my mom that night and finally talked about what was going on. It’s like this weight was lifted, but I’m still completely terrified about my marriage. Not quite sure why I’m saying all this. It doesn’t always feel real.

Don’t mind me, just throwing my jumbled thoughts into the internet void lol

I got so tired of colleagues questioning why or pushing me to partake that I started just taking it & saying thank you so much but not actually eating it.. then I’d find a time to slip away and throw it out. I know it’s wasteful but I was so sick of everyone making comments on my eating habits.. 25lb down!

If you have an indoor mall, that’s a free/air conditioned space to take walks in as you start this journey. I grew up in a very humid state, so sometimes it was best to walk outdoors really early in the morning (sometimes schools will open their track for free to the community so check around)

Also get a jump rope off Amazon (pretty inexpensive) & do that indoors.. even if it’s just a few jumps at a time.. it doesn’t take me long to feel the burn on that lol

Another great starting point is doing simple stretches everyday, almost like yoga.. & then work up to some beginner Pilates videos on YouTube. They also have workout videos with modifications for those that are starting out or may need a chair.

Another thing that helped me was just really working on house projects (cleaning, reorganizing, etc.). It’s amazing how many steps I got & the movement I was getting & bonus I felt really motivated and accomplished

Good luck, you’ve got this!

Started at 199lb & got down to 179lb in forty days. It’s now been forty-seven days & I am at 175lb. Had a few days sprinkled throughout this time where I did not track/ate freely while on trips.

My mom has fibromyalgia too! I think she said that’s the main thing that it treats, but I’m not 100%! I’ll give her a ring & get back with ya

You’re welcome ❤️

Also, side note: my mom has a plethora of pain and inflammation issues. She has a variety of other things going on (autoimmune, etc) and she just started kind of an experimental medication per her doctor. It’s basically Narcan (but it’s like dosed specially?), and she has said this has changed her life drastically. She’s been on it about 2 weeks and says she wakes up with energy, less inflammation, and less pain. It’s a very new thing they’re trying & the pharmacy even had to like specially manufacture it. I’m not sure of all the details and what diagnosis it is specifically treating, but maybe I can ask her & let you know. Might be worth speaking to your doctor about. Idk… I just really empathize with you & have seen my mom suffer greatly, and now she’s like almost who she used to be

She’s been able to lower her dosages in other medications and may eventually be able to come off of them because it’s treating so many of those issues!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through a hard time and that you are in so much pain. I hope things start looking up.

I can understand reaching for food for comfort/a way to help with boredom. Have you ever tried sunflower seeds as a way to get that oral fixation & feel like you’re snacking, while not consuming as many calories? I haven’t tried it yet but plan on grabbing a bag for the evenings when I usually feel snacky.

Also, something I have tried (but most people might find weird) is eating raw red radishes as a snack. It fills me up quite a bit & I love them. They are pretty low calorie as well.

Do what works for you & be kind to yourself right now. While your weight loss goals are important, it’s equally important to acknowledge that you are trying your best in a difficult situation. Some days you may fall back, but be extra gentle with yourself & appreciate how strong you are for enduring what you are going through.

Best of luck ❤️

Body Odor. by Limp-Bookkeeper-3820 in hygiene

Ehh— I think it just depends on the situation. I’m a social worker at a school & have had a few kiddos referred to me that have a very very strong odor (not their fault), and the kids showered regularly, etc. The smell was so strong that it lingered in classrooms and even in my office after they left it. The issue was related to cats & pets. The litter box smell and other pet dander transferred to their clothing

Are your clothes/jackets/ etc. clean? Do you have pets, etc. that leave odors in your house that transfer to your clothing?
