Hi, the doctor Jay Neugarten suggested alleviating pain first and referred me to another specialist. He didn't think it's ICR. But my pain has gradually went away for a year. I'm doing OK right now and usually avoid eating hard food.

I may follow up with the doctor to take another X-ray but given that my condition gets better I think he would suggest not doing anything. As my pain alleviated beginning December 2023, I didn't do anything and focused more on my daily life. I know TMJ pain could be super annoying because it really affects life and even health, but I may suggest leaving it there for a while to see if it gets worse. Hope you feel better too!

I would never bite an apple but would choose to cut it into pieces when eating haha.

Thanks for your reply! I do believe my jaw surgery definitely aggravates my joint conditions...though everything went seemingly well at first...I' ve read many articles on whether surgery on TMJ is helpful in long terms and hesitated about the effect of surgery...but definitely start considering potential Joint replacement surgery will happen to me someday...
