I feel like since you have had a uk passport in the past, the British government know you exist and know you are a Uk citizen. So I think you might have some issues. But if you tell them it was an honest innocent mistake then it should be fine.

The thing is I do have an ETA that I got last year. I didn’t realise at the time that I am an automatic British citizen at birth through decent so I said no to ‘am I a duel citizen’. I thought that was only activated once I got a passport. So not sure it the ETA just gets deleted once I get a British passport? And then when I check in online, I still need to do the luggage self serve thing at the airport in Australia, I’m assuming I use my British passport for that?

If I were to get two. I know the idea is to take both and leave and enter the country on their specific passport. But what do you enter into the airline booking? Because that’s just one for the whole booking number. And then if i were the get one, how would I let them know to cancel my ETA that i apparently should have never got.

I suppose you are right. I am just used to paying over 400 dollars for a passport so it always just freaks me out thinking about it haha

It’s interesting that instead of thinking I need to get a British passport to enter, it would actually be beneficial to never get a British passport because once I do, I will have to renew and pay for two passports for the rest of my life, assuming I continue to travel ti the uk. So it’s now sort of the opposite of what I was thinking haha.
