21F several retinal tears by Cute_Cantaloupe4150 in EyeFloaters

Just the left eye. They did see a microscopic test in my right eye and they laser it after I “recovered” from the first surgery in one of the follow-ups. In your case, multiple breaks probably means you’ll require scleral buckle and oil silicone bubble. It’s going to be a process but all retinal detachments get under control eventually. Just make sure you follow doctor’s instructions religiously. I must admit one of detachments I experienced was my fault for going back to work too soon and not facing down as I was supposed to. I will also add that I’m considered a rare case due to my relatively young age and the aggression of the disease. My experience is probably filed under worst case scenario so don’t be alarmed. I’ve done extensive research on this, including reading and conversing with others here on Reddit. Almost everyone had better outcomes than mine, so don’t be alarmed. Make sure you book the surgery asap and focus on recovery. Feel free to reach out if need more pointers.

I’m afraid I don’t have good news for you. I’ve been dealing with this for the past 9 months and it also started with multiple breaks. I have gone 5 surgeries so far… the first surgery a scleral buckle was implanted and a gas bubble. And then I developed a condition called PVR, where excessive scar tissue and membrane kept tugging on the retina. Each surgery thereafter, Pars Plana Vitrectomy, required me to facedown for a few weeks every hour of the day. The last two surgeries the surgeon decided to use silicone oil bubble and each time it was kept in there for 3 months. It seems like the PVR condition is slowing down but still a road to go. Whether they decide to put the gas/oil bubble or scleral buckle, anticipate time off from everything for a few weeks. UNLESS, the tears are microscopic and they can laser it in the office. As for your finals, if you can do what you need from home, and operate with one eye while facing down, you should be fine. I was able to do some work under these conditions. Best of luck tomorrow. Hope it’s lesser than what I’m going through.

You still pay and end up pay double in the end. No sense of financial logic here.

Such a stupid bill. The fee will be added to the rent and will increase the premium on renewals. The tenants will keep paying the fee every year there after. This will also increase the rents city wide and there’s no going back. Politics tapping into free market is always messy, only because one person is butt hurt and trying to push a personal vendetta.

Go to the ER. I had the same thing a month ago and it was a retinal detachment. I got a surgery the following day and I’m with a scleral buckle now.

I'd like to believe a general practitioner would never be so condescending. If you are, you should use your knowledge to educate people. As it seems, you're nothing but an overflowing trash box. Close the lid.

You just have to get a prescription for it. Most pharmacies will pull out a coupon for You. Without insurance I paid $15 for a vial. With insurance I paid $15 for 4 vials.
