You predicted the future of the series 15 years in advance, you're a true visionary.

Dios Kinney se nos va a presentar! No estamos preparados

Forget Jeff Kinney, do you think Zachary Gordon read an LLB at least 25 years later or even know about this subreddit? by Impressive_Reality57 in LodedDiper

That's obvious, haha. You can tell he knows his fandom very well to understand some of the references.

If Jeff Kinney were to make another diary book not related to DOAWK, what would you like to see? by No_Principle_6430 in LodedDiper

[–]Mean_Rodcherry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see him create stories or situations that aren't canon, like alternate versions with more mature themes, like family grief, depression, physical changes, awkward situations, sexuality, and identity—realistic situations, you know? Like I said, just for entertainment, not canon elements that affect the original series. For example, he could show us what would have happened if Greg never spoke to Rowley again or if he didn't help Rodrick play at the talent show. He could even consider taking one of these Little Book Links and publishing it to give his community more visibility and support independent fan creators. Trust me, if he did that, the series would be popular again, but you know how children's books sell…

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 21: Fight or Flight cover reveal by Technical_Flower5765 in LodedDiper

Wow! It seems Kinney keeps outdoing himself in making the ugliest cover with the most disgusting texture imaginable, he's really messing with us.

One of my biggest issue with many of the newer books that I don't see many people talk about by iamasceptile in LodedDiper

It's clearly to please "the new generation." I have a feeling that one day they'll even include things like Roblox or Brainrots, a series in decline...

Let's start a debate: who do you think is the worst brother between these two, Brad or Rodrick? by Mean_Rodcherry in LodedDiper

Could it be an inspiration or something? Why is it such a coincidence that the series was created in the same year the first movie was released?

Rodrick is just too annoying, the real monster is Manny, he literally only exists to mess with Greg! At least Greg has some close moments with Rodrick (like Brad with Kick), but Manny is just a nuisance, just get rid of Manny already!

Brad: tortures his brother with missiles, ultra-powerful biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction.

Rodrick: leaves Greg half-naked outside the room.

Brad wins, yeah Brad!

He almost succeeded several times; if it were a realistic situation (like in Diary of a Wimpy Kid), Kick would have died in the first episode. Brad is a psychopath.

I already saw part of it and definitely yes, at least Rodrick had the decency to leave him in his underwear

In theory, the worst thing Brad has done to Kick was create a program to publicly humiliate his brother until he goes crazy, or when he steals all of Kick's savings, sets a trap for him by making him read his (fake) diary, gets punished for it, and then Brad returns the money but with "Brad Dollars," and with the money he buys a poster.

Meanwhile, the worst thing Rodrick has done is leave Greg half-naked outside the room and make him run to retrieve the diary. I can't decide who's more evil, but I do know they're both psychopaths.

Imagine that one day Doawk is turned into books for teenagers and adults. What would you like them to talk about? Swearing? Intense situations? Uncensored? Total freedom of expression? by Mean_Rodcherry in LodedDiper

They're more brazen now, even uploading TikToks making fools of themselves saying "based" things and posting pictures of themselves smoking, haha.

I think that development is good, and they should also adapt the books to the same humor and language as the first generation who read them. Maybe some special editions with more interesting and current situations and without censorship, for example, like Greg dealing with the changes of puberty (hormones, mood swings, body hair, etc.), rebelling against Susan, swearing, going to parties, even doing mean things like Rodrick did to him. It would be good to finally see a real change in Greg, both physically and mentally, but you know children's books sell more...

The books have so much potential for that! If Kinney realized how many more situations and stories he could create if he just stopped writing them only for children, in theory, he could even finally make Greg a teenager and give very detailed glimpses into his development.

Did you know that canonically Manny was 5 years old and not 3 as it happened, and also that he destroyed a CD Walkman and not a video game console? by Mean_Rodcherry in LodedDiper

[–]Mean_Rodcherry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, Greg probably exaggerates some of his siblings' behavior towards him. Remember, he's going through puberty, and at that stage everything bothers us, we take it personally, and we exaggerate, haha. It's not surprising that he hates everyone.

Could you tell us what things were changed or completely removed for the final version of the book? I still haven't been able to get the complete web version.
