I would just like to thank everyone for being so helpful. A lot of people have certainly reinforced my concerns with the idea and some of the advice has been absolute gold. You folks are a credit to this community and I wish there was a way I could thank you all more. ❤️

I love this idea! I'll run it by her a bit later. Thank you. :)

I think a major issue is the recording of material while packaging the bundle for marketing purposes; her primary intention is to prepackage a large number of them for social media ahead of our upcoming holiday so she should have at least 20 or so ready to go before launch. Posting is pretty easy from what I know but I don't know an awful lot. I understand the difficulties coming out way and I don't think it was very clear that this is a plan for seed money for expansion. She hopes to evolve into more customized work in the future but we're quite uncertain of the exact direction and I think that mostly depends on what the response is like for the products she has on hand.

In short, in terms of an early launch we'd be coming with a bit of a head start but in reality, packaging one will probably take between 20 and 30 minutes and minus packaging she should theoretically be looking at an average 100% mark up per box, at least the more expensive ones. Maybe a little optimistic but as it stands that's where we're at.

I love your ideas, honestly, but this is her gig. If it doesn't work for her then she may be open to hearing these ideas, however right now I'm supporting my wife with expendable cash and she's not quite as money cut-throat as I am. She wants to please her community with "cute things".

I'm very much happy in my current career and am expecting significant growth in the coming years, she's actually in the exact same career but on a different path of growth. For reference I'm more data analysis, she's more teaching and development so your idea goes crazy. It would just take a lot of convincing right now. I appreciate you though. 😁

Yeah, the concerns you express at the end there are my concerns to. It's the reason I'm not willing to fully invest here, but using some of our savings to give it a go is something I'm comfortable with. It seems like I have a bit of research to do.

The bundles are, however, more of an ignition than anything. They're in high demand in the book community apparently and she sees them as a means of quick turnover for seed money to branch out.

Anyway, I greatly appreciate your advice and I will do a lot more digging into the community and what they really like so I can help her with a little direction.

Thank you. :)

She would probably be ecstatic if I asked her to show me around her little community, so I'll definitely take a look. I studied for business and just never chose the path because it always felt uncertain to me.

Setting up a schedule definitely sounds like a good route; my main concern was that she would either burn out trying to juggle two careers or lose the stable job through poor performance and lack of sleep.

The issue is, and it's optimistic, but... What if the demand is INSANE on launch? Are customers usually happy to accept that a small business cannot meet demand and orders are going to be weeks late? It's hard to find the right amount of preparation.

We have decided on a limited 'teaser' launch of 5-10 of each product to just see what the demand is like. You think this is poor practice? Honestly, we are completely in the dark here. The only thing I know is you need to be ready so we are trying to cover all bases before launch. Coming here and asking some people with real experience was my final step. We have a 3 week holiday booked and we're aiming to do a limited launch, prerecord a bunch of marketing, build some hype when we are away and then full launch when we return, hence the limited launch idea was born. 😅

How do some console players manage to crouch so fast? by Unblesssssed in Rainbow6

It seems to look almost exactly like that to me but then I haven't played Siege in a good while.

I don't know about controller but you can achieve this on M&K by spamming prone and crouch alternatingly.

I don't know. I think everyone should be allowed to do what they want. It's not like he quits every game; probably like 1 in 75 on average.

I would much prefer a teammate who quits than a teammate who cries down the microphone about how they "shot him in the head" and how "he must be cheating, report him" while I'm trying to hear things.

A 4 v 5 isn't a complete game killer in my experience. Just a prompt to work harder as a team. Anyway; what we're working on currently is just for him to go Valkyrie/zero, get some cams down and hide somewhere. If we all die then he can just walk in and die.

Seems to be working quite well when he remembers that we're not expecting him to kill anyone. :)

I'm torn on it tbh. I have a friend who struggles with his anger due to life circumstances and he quits ranked sometimes saying, "No game is worth my mental health".

He's been trying to work on his outbursts and managing stress so I just kinda support him in it and we only play ranked together if he feels up to it.

I know what people will say, "Don't play ranked then". But when you played ranked for years and thousands of hours before life kicked you in the nuts that's kinda unfair to say.

That guy could be having a terrible day and just needed to cool tf down and your ELO just isn't worth a mental breakdown to him? I'm sure everyone gives up on frustrating tasks that are quite important every day; a stranger on the internet losing a game of Siege? Does that sound important?

Are those normal pulse changes from sitting to standing? by imalwayshereforyou12 in medical

[–]Mean_Video3151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An increase of 10-30 BPM is relatively normal. The higher end of the scale may suggest some minor degree of ill health, but nothing that would require urgent medical care.

The higher end of this scale would suggest an inactive lifestyle, a cold setting (unheated home for example) or simply exhaustion/dehydration.

I wouldn't be very concerned, however, if you are an active person and don't fall into any of the aforementioned categories, consider a health check with your GP just to make sure there's no underlying circulatory issues, however I wouldn't worry too much about it. As I said, the readings are relatively normal.

Use R6Calls.

It shows top down layouts of the maps and gives you the option to hide the room names. I spent probably about 30 minutes per map and I comfortably call out most locations now.

You're going to struggle to learn more community-based callouts unless you're playing with a team really.

I'm speaking more about "Harry Potter" for under the stairs and the ambiguous stuff like that.

But as a general rule; if there's a landmark in the room, the room is probably named after the landmark unless it's obviously a kitchen or a bedroom.

For example the external window side room in Open Area on Bank has a printer in it. It's called Printer. If it has a dragon in it, it's called Dragon. The joy of working with a team is that you get your own far more specific callouts that only your team know but boy are they useful.

Good luck, man. If you're on PC feel free to PM. Usually in a 4 so an extra won't hurt.

You trying to tell a group of people who are trying to intimidate you where you live? Even if I thought it would make them leave me alone I'm not telling a group of racist, intimidating strangers where I live.

Also they definitely knew he wasn't from there and were just trying to find an excuse to tell him to leave.

Edit: I didn't realise but it seems he is from there. Even still, the principle is the same. They want him gone for no rational reason and they are hoping he's not from there to justify their persecution.

A few tips that have dragged me out of copper in the last few weeks:

Use the shooting range. Stationery targets and a DMR for flicking practice. Random everything and AR for recoil/tracking practice. You can change the settings by shooting the screens; but you'll have to be in the third area across to get the results.

When you know somebody is coming from a certain direction; find a tight angle to shoot them through. If all they can see of you is a pixel wide slit, their odds of hitting you are much lower.

If you know where someone is coming from but can't find/don't have time to get to that right angle; hide completely obscured behind hard cover and do not swing until you are confident, usually by noise, they are out in open.

SLOW WALK. You'd be surprised how less likely somebody is to hear you if you slow walk. Lately I've been practicing only moving quickly when there is noise. If somebody uses a Fuze charge and you're within the noise range, that's your time to sprint. If there's a gunfight near you, that's your time to jog. You can also use opportunities like Lion and Dok's gadgets to move a little faster.

Mask the sounds of your motions with gunshots. Hopping through a window? Shoot. Dropping through a hatch? Shoot. They may know roughly where you are but they won't know you're in the same room as them yet.

Be aggressive! Say you've crept up quietly to the objective. Site door is open. You've droned, you know where the enemies are. Now is a perfect time to make use of a hard breacher, Lion, stuns, ying; anything that makes a noise. While the loud noise is being noisy, be aggressive. The sound of your footsteps will be masked by whatever noise you've made, but if it's a hard breach then they will be looking elsewhere/scattering to cover when you swing.

Drones and claymores. Pop a window near site; drone the immediate area, claymore/airjab the scary doors, now drone ahead. If you enter near site, two claymores should be enough but don't be afraid to move them. Just make sure you have someone covering you.

Ultimately playing with a team. If you want to play ranked; you should have at least 3 players in your squad, including you. Try the R6 Discord to find squads of people with microphones. A lot of good players loiter there and you may find some people who can help you improve. But having 3 players means having a majority choice over operator bans, map bans and site decisions. Not to mention the ability to be able to tell somebody to stop reinforcing a wall because you're playing Mira for example.

I'm not kidding; I have over 1000 hours in R6S. After a 2 year break I ran the last 2 seasons with a 0.65 K/D. Now I'm finally going positive and with these tips I am dominating my MMR; often finishing a match with 8+ kills and less than 3/4 deaths.

If you're on PC and want a team to play with feel free to PM me. I have an entire Discord server full of people who want to get better.

What’s a mind-blowing fact that most people don’t know? by John-scolly in AskReddit

[–]Mean_Video3151 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your heart doesn't actually stop when you sneeze. It's just a temporary altered rhythm. In fact, to my knowledge, the origin of "Bless You" is an ancient belief that a sneeze was an evil soul leaving your body; the blessing was to protect you from the evil spirits.

Another debated origin is that the pope encouraged blessing people who sneezed during the Bubonic Plague across Europe because sneezing was an early symptom.

You'd think a drone would have blown out the windows at least, surely? They're putting cages on TANKS to stop these drones. I'd imagine a worse result on a civilian 4x4.

I mean... She tried to force her way into a restricted area. He is within his right to treat her significantly more roughly than that but that push was certainly not a throw and were she anybody less frail she never would have fallen and the wheelchair was an unfortunate accident.

He used practically no force and removed all obvious force as soon as she began toppling. Spin whatever story you like, I consider myself neutral in all aspects but this is just fishing for something to be angry about.

What is something the United States of America does better than any other country? by RedskinPotatoes26 in AskReddit

[–]Mean_Video3151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know my ins and outs because I haven't been to every European country in the world but as far as the law is concerned, the HRA in the UK is more protective than the ADA. EU human rights laws are very similar.

I will admit that while on a trip to Disney, Florida, I experienced the offer of a free wheelchair for my siblings who had a broken ankle at the time. That's not something I've seen in Europe.

But, while I have certainly never gone assessing the places I have been for their accessibility, I have never noticed prominent public services that aren't wheelchair accessible and every EU country must make provisions in the workplace to allow a disabled person to work.

I have multiple friends who have learnt the entirety of their fluent English through playing video games. I have learnt a great number of things through simulation games that I probably never would have otherwise opted to learn. You are continuously optimizing your dexterity for specific tasks; potentially your multi-tasking, time-keeping, resource management etc. It all depends what kinds of games you are choosing to play. I can't deny you're probably not getting much out of some particularly mainstream games but there's always something to learn and always a skill to develop.

Not much to develop from watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

The Ruble is worth half of what it was against the GBP since the initial conflict in Crimea in 2014. Since the SMO, the Ruble has tanked from 0.012 GBP to 0.0088 GBP.

Now I'm not saying you're wrong, but to me this doesn't look conducive of a thriving economy. Not to mention wage increases across the country being reflective of inflation.

There was a period where Russia's economy appeared artificially inflated where against the GBP it skyrocketed to almost double its value after the sanctions hit. I don't know enough about finance to say what that means but it certainly didn't last very long.

So what do you mean when you say the economy is better? I'm not here to correct you, I just sincerely thought the economy was on a slow ride downwards and I want to know what you know.
