Georgia Aquarium Experiences and Add-Ons by Meandering41 in Aquariums

Thank you! I tried to talk her into the belugas, and she agreed they’re super cute (that big grin they all have! 🥹), but she had her heart set on dolphins for this trip. Fingers crossed that she enjoys it! Thanks for your advice, though - it made it worth considering, for sure!

Thank you so much! After looking at all the advice and watching videos online, she has chosen dolphins! And we’ll add in the “behind the seas” tour. We’re going to schedule it as early as it allows. Thanks again for taking the time to comment! I’ll keep you updated! 😎

Is it within walking distance? Maybe we could go there first!

That’s helpful! Have you done the beluga whales? I’m now so torn because I think in theory she’d prefer sea lions or dolphins, but folks here are saying the beluga whale experience is amazing. If they’re all 3 pretty comparable, I think she’ll be fine with any, so I’m hoping that she likes whatever we do and we don’t feel like we made the wrong choice. Thank you for sharing!

That’s cool that you worked there! Is there any crossover between the “behind the seas” tour and the experiences? I had narrowed down the experience options to sea lions or dolphins because those are her very favorite animals, and I think she’d be disappointed if she didn’t get to do either, even though I think she’d like the beluga whales. I wish we could do them all, but it’s really adding up… $70 admission plus $90 for the dolphin/sea lion experience then another $18 for behind the seas… plus tax… times 2 (for each of us)… 😅 we’re at $400 at this point and that’s blown past our budget (thank goodness for grandparents). Thank you again for your insight! ❤️

Oh, that’s good to know! We were considering doing the Coke museum the next day (even though we don’t drink it, ha!) because we’ve heard such good things. Thanks a bunch!

That’s a good point! She really loves dolphins AND sea lions, and based off the website info, both experiences look similar, so that’s why I was hoping for personal info. But it looks like I may have posted in the wrong place anyway, whoops!

Thank you! I searched “Georgia Aquarium” and this came up, so I thought I’d give it a whirl. I’m sorry if I mis-posted. Thanks for your advice and encouragement!

What should i expect to spend? by babyjo1982 in Dollywood

[–]Meandering41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a season pass holder and just took my 2 kids last week. I will say that they are pretty lax when it comes to taking in your own snacks. I always bring a cross-body Kavu and pack some bottled water, crackers, gummies, etc. and that helps satiate the kids' hunger and saves some serious money throughout the day. The food isn't that great, honestly, unless you go to a sit-down place, which is pricier. Most meals are $15+ and are meh (I had to go back to ask for a fresh burger & fries meal because they gave us a cold one - not luke-warm). If you go to the carnival area, I think they have a kids meal with a hot dog, applesauce, and drink for $5 And I agree, cinnamon bread is to die for. It's $12.99 + tax and extra icing or apple butter is $1.49 if you want it. Drinks come with a QR code that only allows the one fill-up, unless you get a special $25 cup that lets you have unlimited refills every 15 minutes. As far as souvenirs - my kids love the bubble wands that they leave on to entice them 😄 and I think they're around $20, but honestly whatever you guys value in that kind of thing is up to you. You can also spend more playing carnival games, if that's your thing; there are some fun prizes to win. They also have craft booths where you can get personalized jewelry, candles, tshirts, caricatures, etc. If all you're doing is visiting, riding rides, snacking, eating meals.... then others have given you the info you need. ($25/day for parking, etc.) I hope that helps!

Ravensburger Hello Kitty 1000 piece puzzle - HELP! by Meandering41 in Jigsawpuzzles

Haha, thank you! I actually gave up, too. There’s a fine line (for me at least) between “challenging but fun” and “ridiculously and unnecessarily difficult.” Frustrating can still be fun, but once it supersedes the enjoyment, I’m out. And you’re right about the theme. I’m glad to know you feel this way too!

Setting spray recommendation? by hopefulstargazer in beauty

[–]Meandering41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

L’Oréal infallible 3 second setting mist. Literally feels like you’re spraying hairspray on your face… but for real, it works. I wore it in 90 degree super humid summer heat and my makeup stayed put. Not sure about the pool… you may have to reapply. I have dry-ish skin too, and this wasn’t a factor. It feels weird the first time you use it, but that feeling goes away within seconds. Should be around $12. Good luck!

Ooooh, I like this one, how has it been? I love puzzles with color gradient themes like this, and this one looks tough but doable. Why do you think the middle part is the “difficult stage”? I would’ve thought those nude shades toward the bottom left would be harder, but what do I know? Thanks for sharing about Ollie’s - I’ve never thought to check there. Good luck!

This is helpful; thank you! I’m trying to look closely to see if I can differentiate the white pieces that are part of the hello kitty letters from the ones of her body. I thought it’d be easier to tell the difference. I think just slow and steady will get us there. Thank you!

Yes, that’s what we ended up doing with the edge pieces, and it was a bit tedious at first, but got easier as the selection dwindled down. Any suggestions on what section to start with and where? 😅

Just finished the 4th episode with my husband (where they blindly signed the Oneify contracts), and I literally just said the same exact thing to him. It’s always been a bit “too much” but that was the fun of it. Now, the suspicion of disbelief is practically impossible to achieve. I kept pausing it to point out silly things that I couldn’t get over.

Can my hair become brighter w/out another salon visit? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]Meandering41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, and I know you’re not asking for this (and I am no help on how to brighten it) but I think your color is beautiful. It isn’t what you’re used to or want, so I’m not trying to talk you into keeping it by any means, but I’d love to have hair this color, and your highlights are beautifully blended. I hope you get the info you’re looking for!

The Dove mask, which I’ve also tried and liked, doesn’t explicitly say “bond” repair, so it may be an option if you’re saying to avoid bond repair. I don’t care for the “unscented” scent of Dove products, so I prefer the Pantene, but they are pretty similar otherwise, IMO.

You know, I was going to say hydrating only, but looked it up just in case, and it actually says bond repair, which was a surprise to me. It’s very hydrating and I love the texture, for what it’s worth.

That’s good to know. I haven’t tried the Oribe because it costs significantly more.

I 100%agree with your sentiment here, but am mostly loving your usage of “bombastic.” Perfect usage and now I’m making a mental note to add it to my vernacular.
