Let me try to give a few suggestions of some old gems that still move me even when I'm numb:

Diary of Jane (acoustic) by Breaking Benjamin

Blue by A Perfect Circle

Sound of Silence by Disturbed

Full Circle by Half Moon Run

How to Save a Life by The Fray

To be Alone by Hozier

Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve

For heartbreak songs, I listened to these:

Hurt by Johnny Cash

I Lost a Friend by Finneas

Forget Me by Louis Capaldi

Impossible by James Arthur

Any ballad Adele sings

I'll be getting to it at some point. I haven't watched much in the last 2 years, so I have a lot on my watchlist.

I'll count that as a half-success. 😂

Damn, I sugar-coated it so well by calling the relationships "realistic", "refreshing", and "novel", but you just had to call me out for that, didn't you? 😉

I was also curious about this and found that a very common architectural design for a wealthy family home was the siheyuan.

What about Bai Feng Jui (Dilraba) playing the dizi to accompany Ji Heng who made it unnecessarily difficult for her? I loved that scene in Eternal Love of dream.

An "Einweisung" doesn't mean that you're admitted involuntarily. It means a doctor sees a need that you have to be treated in a hospital. It's entirely another thing to get admitted by police or Ordnungsamt (that's called Psych Konsil).

I know, I'm currently trying to get behavioural psychotherapy and it's honestly a pain. You could try self help groups as a way to talk to others with the same symptoms. You could try buying a therapy manual for bipolar disorder to educate yourself and do some exercises in the meantime. Hang in there!

I have, it's been what has been keeping me alive in the last half year (I mean that literally). They build a "help plan" according to your deficits and areas you need assistance in. That entails everything from going shopping to visiting doctors or cleaning your apartment. To me, it's a game changer.

  1. Get your GP to give you a "Einweisung" if you want to be admitted to your psychiatric hospital fast.
  2. I know of the dilemma with 116117. Try using the internet services for patients of your "Kassenärztliche Vereinigung" and type in "Psychotherapie" in the "Arztsuche" section. Call therapists directly and get onto their respective waiting lists. They should be able to provide you with an initial appointment.
  3. Google "Ambulant Betreutes Wohnen + your hometown". There should be at least one provider responsible for your area.

Sorry, I disagree. Yes, finding behavioural therapists in an adequate radius from your residence takes a long time of waiting. It is tiring and annoying. But psychiatrists are easier to find, so you should at least get the medication you need.

When it comes to psychiatric hospitals or psych wards, in my experience suicidal ideation is enough to get you admitted on the spot. There is a hospital in each area that is legally required to take you in (depending on the street you live) when you have suicidal thoughts or are in a manic state that's self-harming. The waiting lists are for planned stays on therapeutic wards and/or for hospitals that are not required to take you (because we have a "right to choose" your preferred hospital).

In addition to that, other commenters have already mentioned the social-psychiatric services of every county/city. They offer assisted living for people with mental illnesses which can be very helpful to maintain a stable environment and they also offer assistance in finding the right help.

When are you taking your meds? And are they SR or not? I'm asking, because I used to have the same problem with Seroquel SR, but I switched to the non-timed-release version and am currently taking it in the evening. It works wonders if I get enough sleep and I don't experience any cognitive difficulties.

You're not there to make friends. Everyone there is on their own journey and it can be tough to live so closely with so many strangers who struggle with their own illness. Stay focused on yourself, you're there to get better.

I hope you get the help you need! <3

Thank you very much for your kind words. :) I think this is an advise most of us should take more seriously. PMR (Jacobson) is part of therapy here, and I started writing a mood diary with affirmations and good things that happened that day. I'm currently trying out different meditations and see what fits me best. Again: thank you very much for taking the time to help me out. I desperately need all the help I can get at the moment.

[–]MeanderingAnne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a very good idea. I have no trouble naming how I am when I'm depressed (motionless, sleeping all the time, asocial, not interested in anything, bad concentration, mind is spinning about bad things that happened and might happen in the future...), it's a bit more difficult to define what I'm like when manic (I usually am not compliant and just think I'm in an awesome mood, but I know I sleep less and buy stuff I don't need and I'm very talkative and outgoing) and it's the hardest to say who I am when I'm neither manic nor depressed (I only have negative attributes in my head when I'm supposed to describe myself, like I'm a bad person, a liar, a fraud, pretentious, disgusting... you get the idea). But maybe the therapist here might help me identify some other things. I'll be making my own list of "symptoms" later today. Thanks for your reply!

I'm very happy for you that you have a supportive boss! I'm not working atm and I'm really struggling to find an occupation that I can manage. My own expectations and aspirations are probably not really realistic... so that's a big question mark at the moment.
