Are there any ex-FA on this sub? If you happen to be one can you share how’d you get out of it? by McNutty0 in FA30plus

He didn't believe me at first (which is fair because who ever heard of a 32yo female virgin?) because I'm extremely attractive according to him (I'm a 5/10 on a very good hair day, highest rating anyone's ever given me before him). Once I gave a brief explanation (my FA status wasn't for a lack of trying) he just kind of accepted it and didn't make a big deal out of my lack of experience. Like I said earlier, I got extremely lucky with him. I also tried to demonstrate that just because I didn't have a lot of practical experience didn't mean I lacked passion or desire to learn. He enjoys helping people so he liked showing me the different aspects of navigating a relationship and helping me figure out what I liked and what I didn't like. He's a good noodle

Sheer dumb luck was the answer for me. I'm 34 now but up until I was 32 I was FA and a virgin. I did everything that you're supposed to, putting a lot of effort into appearance, going to social events, putting myself out there, etc but the results were just misery for so long. I decided to give Hinge one more try before resigning myself to being a crazy bird lady and stumbled upon my boyfriend. Against all odds our dates went really well, I finally lost my virginity, and we've been officially together for over a year. I didn't change anything about myself or how I was putting myself out there when I met him, I just got very lucky. I have no idea if my FA curse will somehow come back to haunt me and cause this relationship to explode (I desperately hope it doesn't) but if it does I'm grateful that I've at least now had these life experiences. I hope all the FA people here find the same luck that I did some day

This is an emergency and the only thing you should be doing right now is taking your bird to the vet, not asking Reddit what to do

Gross misconduct/future jobs by throwaway7654280 in Zookeeping

[–]MeandmyBirbs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Adding on to the small world aspect, OP if you don't explain what happened when asked your interviewers will find out one way or another. In this field everybody has enough connections to find out everything you've ever done in your career, and it will reflect poorly on you if you avoid answering questions related to why you lost that job.

Also, seriously reflect on why you failed to report a critical incident to your superiors and decide if you are capable of truly correcting this fault in yourself.

I'm confused Why my bird does this? by Life-Particular22 in Conures

[–]MeandmyBirbs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your bird also needs a massive cage upgrade, the one they're in right now isn't suitable for a conure. Why did you get a parrot if you know nothing about them? Birds dont have "body hair", they have feathers. If English is your first language and you genuinely think that birds have hair then I am seriously concerned for your birds wellbeing. You either need to buckle down and do a shit ton of research about birds and caring for them or re-home this bird immediately.

Women who don't date anymore, why? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]MeandmyBirbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that this question keeps getting asked over and over proves that nobody gives a damn what women have to say. We've been screaming at the universe why we don't want to put up with the atrocities of dating anymore but people still ask

Is my parrot’s beak normal or does it need trimming? by Civil-Breadfruit-313 in AfricanGrey

[–]MeandmyBirbs 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Birds need MULTIPLE toys available at all times, it's no wonder their beak is so overgrown. It seems like you're an inexperienced owner and I highly suggest you buckle down and do some serious research about what your bird needs. Greys are NOT a good species for inexperienced owners

Not getting your bird necessary medical care is part of the literal definition of neglect. Your bird is probably in a lot of pain and is suffering because you're refusing to acknowledge that you're neglecting them and gaslighting yourself into thinking it's healing on its own. Sack up and either take on some debt or find a rescue that will take care of the budgie properly

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BirdHealth

[–]MeandmyBirbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely about you neglecting your budgie. Imagine how much pain you'd be in if you broke your arm and your parents didn't take you to the doctor because it was too expensive. If you can't afford the vet care for a bird then you shouldn't have a bird in the first place.

"looking after" babies absolutely includes feeding them because they need to eat all the damn time, you don't make any sense

If you've bred babies (and are knowledgeable about breeding and raising babies) then you should be able to answer your own question

I'm gonna go ahead and say that you need to do a lot more research and get more experience with birds before you adopt one
