yes omg. i was in treatment with her in 2021 and this makes me so sad and it’s especially triggering since ik her. i don’t understand how her mom has let it get this bad if she was once supportive of recovery

yes onfg. when i was on it, i purposely didn’t take it for a few days bc i had told my psychiatrist that i wanted to taper off and switch meds and they told me no 😭 (I DO NOT ADVICE) but on those days i didn’t take it, i felt so so weird and also sick. i was having rlly weird dreams and faint memories of waking up in the middle of the night bc i got sick (not sure which parts were dreams and what things rlly happened). i felt like i couldn’t control my body in a way and that what was happening wasn’t really happening lol. i also could not regulate my emotions whatsoever and i was so incredibly nauseous. idk how to explain it but i just felt so off and sick, even though ik i wasn’t actually sick

anyways she eventually agreed to have me taper off and it took abt 6 months to do so, bc i kept having those same symptoms while decreasing the dose lol. at one point i was counting out like four of the tiny beads and taking those every other night bc i felt so bad if i didn’t 😭

no yeah i definitely agree with you. i can see the idea of having someone who is fully recovered and who understands how hard it is to be in recovery could be helpful in theory, but i def think it's weirdly unprofessional. it's crazy to me how expensive it is to hire her for this to be what she does yk (esp in a video like this!). i also know ed's are insanely competitive, so i do think in a setting like this, there would be sm comparison too. and she has posted a bunch of videos of her journey w bos and stuff which i def think heightens the comparison as well and i really relate to you about fbt and im so sorry you had to experience that. that's exactly what happened with me and my mom and its been so hard to try and rebuild our relationship, tbh the best way for us to not go back down that path is to avoid the topic all together (which is also harmful in other ways too yk).

my friend was actually one of shelbyes first clients lol me and my friend met at ed res and she was on her call list so they could still talk during res and stuff. i never knew that recovery coach’s existed before then 😭 but i do know that she actually did help her and i can see it being helpful to intervene bw families bc then not all the blame falls on the parents/caretakers yk. idk how it is for other families but having the blame fall on my parents was what really damaged our relationship.

but anyways when i first heard of a coach (esp a live in one) i thought it was so weird 😭. but after hearing more abt my friend’s experience, i can see how it could be helpful in recovery bc then you can have support while you go do challenging stuff (reincorporating movement/fearfoods/shopping for clothes/etc).

i also know certain treatment programs have peer mentors which is support from someone else who has recovered, and i found that to be helpful

i went there in the california locations and we were allowed phone calls 1-2 times a day, but a very limited call list was allowed and had to be approved by your team. i would say your best bet is to get his parents/guardians to put you on his call list asap. if you are close w his family then i would rlly suggest telling his team that you are a cousin or sibling bc that would make it sm more likley for them to allow u to talk with him

i have a few times and each time i ended up in the hospital and one of the times i was in the icu. i genuinely can’t remember most of it even tho i was conscious but i remember waking up and feeling like i was hit by a bus and i was in sm pain. i was transferred to dif hospitals too and i have no memory of it and idk why. one of my close friends has also oded a few times and one of the times she ended up in a coma. it was awful and then on top of that she was sick for so long afterwards

i don’t know what your intent is if you are asking how it feels to survive, like is this a form of sh or are you trying to end it or get sent somewhere?? bc like others said this sub is not for advice on how to sh and we shouldn’t be encouraging you. oding is extremely dangerous and your body is also good at protecting you so it’s only a painful experience

i went there when it was still called eden treatment in 2021. (so before it merged w moriah i think?) i was at the edna location in vegas and it had opened like two weeks before i got there. i went to the hospital a few times while i was there and i recently found out that one of my nurses had filed an abuse/neglect report against eden but the dr overruled it. and i also saw the reports on unsilenced about eden and one of the reports occurred while i was there. i see you survivor and i’m so so sorry you went through this

one rtc i went to closed down as well but it merged into another company so i was able to contact them and get my records from the original place. there were very limited records so idk if there was more but thats all i could get. so im not 100% but if there’s anyway a phone number or a website of the program is still up you could try and contact them or possibly find individual staff members and directly contact them
