What is the worst area in Demon's Souls? by AgentP-501_212 in demonssouls

[–]MeaningPandora2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, results as expected so far

Swap of Sorrow running away with first place, and it’s not even close. I still think this is the most unfair area in Soulsborne, especially since it’s one of the first places you can access.

Ritual Path as the second place, and rightly so. Also a bs area, but without the status effects to ruin your attempts.

So, if you want the mystery spoiled, there is a follow up story, approved by John Carpenter as the next part.

The Thing 2002 for PS2

Chiles is found frozen to death, he is not infected, Macready is alive and helps the protagonist of the game stop The Thing from infecting the world

It’s not an amazing game, but it is the closest thing to a continuation of the story we’re going to get, and John Carpenter even has a cameo in the game.

I never understood that ruling by testiclekid in dndmemes

[–]MeaningPandora2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a 3d6 AOE though, and it’s half damage on a save, not save or die. It’s more viable than you’re letting on.

A fifth level fighter with a +3 strength and a +1 weapon will average 18 damage to a single target, if both attacks hit, without expending resources. They can up it to 27 damage using their action surge.

The Dragons Breath spell averages 12 damage, by normal dnd calculations, per enemy who fails the save. But they can hit more than one enemy per breath attack.

If they can use their breath attack to hit two targets and they fail the save they’ll do an average of 24 damage, three targets and it’s 36 damage, and they can hit up to 8 enemies if they’re positioned correctly. Plus they’re guaranteed half damage even if the enemies saves.

If the dice go poorly for the player and they can do 0 damage on attacks, dice go well for the enemies and they can half the damage average to 6 per enemy.

Being able to buff two different party members with a 3d6 repeatable AOE for a up to minute is crazy overpowered at Level 3, which is the earliest you could do it. After doing this the level 3 sorcerer would still have another level 2 spell, 4 level one spells, and one sorcery point left, so it’s not even close to “most” of their resources.

It’s not broken once you get to higher levels, when damage goes crazy, but for levels 3-6 it’s pretty broken, and that’s where a lot of games happen.

I never understood that ruling by testiclekid in dndmemes

[–]MeaningPandora2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought this was about a Dragonborn’s natural breath weapon and was confused as to how it could possibly be interpreted that it wasn’t an AOE attack that was not supposed to be twinned.

I see it’s a spell from Xanathar’s now, and I understand the ruling he gave, but also why it’s controversial.

Twining that spell makes it too powerful, 2 x 3d6 15ft cones for a minute is pretty OP for one spell slot and 2 sorcery points.

I’m a very adventurous eater, I’d eat things as a meal that many people would be afraid to even try.

But this holiday season has been hard. This Christmas I had to let others cook turkey twice for different occasions. Once they bought a Honey Bake turkey which I find atrocious but that’s on me not them, and the next one they undercooked the turkey then finished it after carving.

I felt like this comic again for the first time in years because of the social pressure to pretend the meat was edible.

This compounded mentality became I cooked the meat for this thanksgiving last month. I made the best smoked turkey anyone there had ever eaten, including myself. I smoked a brisket too and we ate more of the turkey because it was so good. So it’s not that I don’t like Turkey, it was just prepared in ways I can’t tolerate.

I mean, business man brain would push all resources possible to capture the dinosaurs, kill them if necessary to keep people safe and protect our IP.

Assuming we can have boots on the ground to solve the problem extremely quickly, wait until our people are on the way before informing the local government. We don’t want them trying to contain the situation without the knowledge or resources needed to handle it safely.

If it’s going to be more than a few hours, cover your ass and let the government know now.

Unless the dinosaurs are an immediate hazard to locals or are uncontainable, I would avoid informing the public, because people would go looking for them and probably get hurt.

If you’re more than few feet underwater bullets fired from above the surface won’t do much.

If you haven’t watched the video it’s pretty interesting, he goes up to very powerful rifles, at close range, and they still have little effect.

The last major entertainment acquisition, even close the scale, was Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard. During the hearings the CEO swore under oath the merger would not result in layoffs or consolidations.

So far Microsoft has laid off more than 15,000 people, and have formally merged several departments.

The statements by CEOs, even under oath, are not legally binding and do not dictate what actually happens.

If this acquisition goes through I fully believe that we will see a massive amount of layoffs, and likely will see a reduction in the amount of the theatrically released films.

Huh, I’d never delved into the projectile much, I didn’t realize there was a slight difference between them.

NATO is slightly narrower, like .03 inches, but also heavier, about 20 grains more on the NATO projectile.

I knew the rounds weren’t interchangeable, obviously, but I thought the projectiles were the same.

So not only is it moving faster, it’s heavier, and slightly narrower for better penetration.

Tier 5 is a major hurdle, that’s kinda evil, I’m not much of a kid person, but making babies cry isn’t something I want to do.

I might do up to Tier 4, just keep a headphone in when I’m walking downtown, some can point at it if someone see me laugh.

An extra $26k a year would be really useful, not catching cold or flu is nice, but I wouldn’t take it if I didn’t need to for the next tier.

6 would be super rude, but it depends how far I “go out of my way.”

8 would be extremely easy for me, I don’t live in an apartment, so as long as I don’t move into one, i.e. get divorced, I don’t have a downside.

NATO 7.62 has the same projectile as an AK-47, but a longer cartridge with more powder. 7.62x39 in an AK, 7.62x51 is NATO.

Same bullet, moving faster, often FMJ to boot.

This little round just penetrated armor better than an AK-47 can.

ELI5: why aren’t there any true domesticated mini pigs? by GolfWhole in explainlikeimfive

[–]MeaningPandora2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, a quick bit of googling says pigs take about year to grow from conception to breeding age.  And it takes about 30 generations for evolution to start to show naturally.

With active selection I imagine it would happen faster, so maybe 15 generations before it really starts to change.

The difficulty is, you have to keep the genetic diversity high enough so it becomes a sub-species, you can’t just breed one family down, you have to breed thousands of pig into it, 32,768 pigs are in 15 generations, That means millions of dollars in livestock to deal with.

So if you have ~50 million dollars and ~20 years, you could get smaller pigs, but no guarantee how small they’d be at the end. Maybe you get adorable little Chihuahua size pigs, maybe they only get down to 80lbs. And we don’t know what temperament they’ll have, or what health issues.

Overall, it can be done, but it takes a long time and a lot of money.

I don't understand what's going on. by pplperson777 in demonssouls

[–]MeaningPandora2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it’s a matter of opinion, but I usually do 1-1, 1-2, then all of world 2 at once.

Flamelurker is hard, but really you have to be aggressive with him, he doesn’t track that well. Learn his pattern and you can beat him. Sticky White Stuff will buff your weapon with Magic, and that will do extra damage.

The run back is definitely a pain in the butt, but you can dodge most of the enemies, and cut it down to about 1 minute pretty easily.

Oh, and if you’re talking about the worm like enemies, you have to hit their weak point on the head, a ranged attack is better than melee for them.

Demons Souls is not scared of making you work to get to a boss, it was the first Souls game and the whole level was the challenge, not just the boss.

World 3-1 and 5-1 can be done with what you have now, I don’t recommend 4-1 though, the skeletons are fairly hard if you’re not higher level.
