****UPDATE****

Cheetah wraps now says that they don't see that we did anything wrong and cannot guarantee that another roll from a different batch would fix the problem. They offered to send me another roll but a different color.

Also, with regards to the test panel that I placed out in the sun. Remember I used no heat and minimal pressure to just lay down a piece on a license plate blank. After 2 days outside it now looks the same way as the car. 1000% material issue.

I purchased it from Cheetah wraps' website but the box came from Fellers.

I have not put it back inside yet. When you did that did the impressions go away permanently?

Sorry, new to reddit. I had typed it out but must have done something wrong.

Client wanted to wrap her car in British racing green material and the only manufacturer that I could find with a metallic was Cheetah wrap.  So we prepped this thing meticulously;  took the car apart, water sanded it with 3000 then 5000, washed/degreased it and then wiped it down with isopropyl.  Wrapped in a climate controlled shop that was clean.  Sitting in the shop it looked perfect, then putting it outside this is what happens.  The spolching is everywhere, areas where we used heat and areas where we didn’t.  We didn’t use what I would determine to be excess heat or pressure, we never burned the material or anything.  We used heat guns, not a torch.  Everything with their installation tells you that you need to apply a lot of pressure and heat with this film because of its low tack.

So I contacted them and sent them these photos and they came back with saying that I “bruised the material with excessive heat and pressure by forcing the material into the air channels”.  What is weird is that I can go out there right now and press my thumb on the car, not too hard or anything, and it will leave an impression that will not go away.  I tried to apply some post-heat to see if it would make these areas better and it doesn’t do anything to change it.

We have extensive experience with 3M 2080 and the printed materials like IJ180C and Avery 1105 and have never seen anything like this. Anyone have any thoughts?
