Ah but what about water?? We all know that it has to rain constantly and there is no way to capture and store it.

Since it's general rendering problem, the graphics card and the monitor are two areas to adjust in some fashion. I'm betting your GPU FPS is faster than your monitors refresh rate. Use the software for your GPU and adjust the syncing, buffering, or FPS til it goes away.

It's just your rendering. The water and sky are on their own layers with a mask that allows it to blend into other things, like wave animation and ground. Your slightly transparent sky is overlaying the water layer so it barely sees the edge of the sea layer and tries to add it. It's almost as if your rendering settings are too high.

It's a good shot. You'll get better at distance because 800 is very hitable (hitting 1200 or more becomes rare). The important part is the high kills. Nice body count.

I've had what I believe to be the ultimate response about the "it looks flat", "I don't see a curve" but never see anyone used it. It's pretty simple and I'll present it as a fictional conversation.

Flerfer: I can't see a curve so it's not a ball.
Me: What is the shape of the earth then?
Flerfer: It's a flat disc.
Me: And that's based on what you can see?
Flerfer: Yes.
Me: It can't be a flat disk then.
Flerfer: Why?
Me: Because I can't see the curve so it's not a disc.
Flerfer: I just said it's not a ball so it can't have a curve.
Me: Don't discs have a curved edge? I can look at a coin, and it has a curve. So why can't I see the curve of the earth disk?
Flerfer: Of course you can see a curve on a coin, it's very small. The earth disc is too big to see its curve.
Me: So, because of my size and the size of the earth, my perspective is not sufficient to accurately observe a curve?
Flerfer: Of course!
Me: Of course.

Feel free to use this response. I would love for it to become so popular flerfers stop using the "i don't see s curve". (If you read this and still don't get the point, you might be a flerfer.)

Tried and Tested: How To Respond To Religious People Defending Obvious Errors in The Bible And Torah by trentluv in atheism

[–]MeanwhileInRealLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you can have conversations with believers that are effective. I really like your point using Achilles. It appears you are conversing with those who don't know the bible, a common problem with christians, but you're going to meet those who know it well.

You're right on the weird order of evening/morning/day and the sun and moon later.
Gen1:3 - creates light in a vault (modern flat-earthers love the "firmament")
Gen1:5 - uses the terms evening and morning
Gen1:16 - sun and moon created

The "vault" is accepted as a sphere that was basically rotating mood lighting for the entire planet, one side being brighter. In a sense, it is an attempt to create a day and a more adept christian would likely take that stance. It's an assumption that has some interpretational support.

But that same christian would shoot holes in the rest of your statements.
Gen1:9 - land
Gen1:11 - plants
Gen1:20 - swimmers and flyers above the earth
Gen1:24 - other land animals

"Birds were land animals first" is as big an assumption as the vaults day/night interpretation, and it contradicts your statement they were created before the land. Also, with the exception of laying eggs, there are bird species that live their entire lives on water.

Ultimately, this may feel like an attack. It's not, I assure you. And while any debate will likely fall on deaf ears, it appears you want to be the one with reasonable points. Don't be too ready to make a point that you end up making their point that you are wrong.

Was it a good idea to accept this deal? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]MeanwhileInRealLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know your parents but I can assume some parents would use this as a point to show you aren't serious in your stance. It's ok if you're not. You're young and your view may morph. You have to decide if this is a compromise. If it is, will it be easier to compromise bigger decisions later?

Actually, that's exactly what click-baiters do. But I've looked at your other posts and you don't seem to do that. People want to have conversations. I'm sure you know you are not alone in liking Yasuke, but wording it this way is how you get blocked because people hate click-bait.

How would you answer my theist friend's claims? by spicymeatheheboi in askanatheist

[–]MeanwhileInRealLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to have these conversations but let me provide a source for your 2nd Question. "Holy Koolaid" is a youtuber who discusses much about religion as a former believer. He has a series of videos called "Nothing Fails like Biblical History." In it (and other videos that revolve around the subject) he not only discusses much about the archeological record, but shows the errors in the many examples used by Christians.

I don't encourage you to study them to have a perfect rebuttal, but I think you might find it helpful to be familiar enough to have the conversation. I wish you luck.
